SEP 4, 23 .. TODAY .. MONDAY THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER .. IS LABOR DAY ..

Hum-m-m-m..

What does Wikipedia have to say about Labor Day?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_Day

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States that is celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. It “dates back” into the 1880’s!

All of the above introductory words are about what I had expected to find.

Then I “went looking for” and found it!

Unofficial End of Summer

Labor Day is called the “Unofficial End Of Summer” because it marks the end of the cultural summer season. Many people take their two-week vacations during the two weeks ending on Labor Day weekend. Many fall activities, such as school and sports (particularly football), begin about this time.

So Wikipedia officially makes Labor Day The Unofficial End of Summer.

Another fun Labor Day “tid-bit”!

In the State of Minnesota, under state law, public schools normally do not begin until after the Labor Day Holiday. One reason given for this timing was to allow time for schoolchildren to show 4-H projects at the Minnesota State Fair.

Tender!
