SEP 5, 23 .. TUESDAY .. SEPTEMBER THE 5th 2023 .. MY 87th BIRTHDAY
I was born at 5:52am, Saturday morning, September the 5th 1936
What on this good earth am I going to write about, or say about, my own Birthday? It’s like discussing Humility! A truly humble person does not claim to be humble!
Fretting and worrying are such useless emotions, or are they feelings?
Just Do It .. So sayeth the Advertising Trademark of the Nike shoe company. The slogan was coined in 1988 at an advertising agency meeting.
Julia Cameron is correct : Just sit down and start writing, the ideas will follow!
And now I am off and running!
You see, if worse comes to worse, I can go back-in-time to September 5, 2011, and come forward to September 5, 2022, and find out : “What did I say on my other 12 Birthday Posts?”
O.K. it IS my Birthday. So I went back to September 5th 2011 and came forward. In each of the following SEVEN years I DID NOT EVEN PUBLISH a September 5th Post : 2011, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18 and 2020! I chose the “easier softer way” and did not write a Birthday Post in those seven years.
However! This year is different! I am on my streak of consecutive days of publishing a Post here on dotnet. I am now into my 12th month of not missing a day. That is to say, I have not missed one single day for 11 consecutive months or for 349 consecutive days beginning on September the 22nd, 2022.
And?
I am NOT, I will NOT, deliberately “stop” this streak ON my Birthday!

Birthday numbering is interesting. Patti and I got into a discussion about it.
Let’s begin with your very first birthday.
You live for one full year. Then, having lived for one full year, you are now one year of age and you are beginning your second year.
Today I celebrate the achievement of having lived for eighty seven complete years. Tomorrow I begin living my eighty eighth year!

A very special event in my life happened on my Birthday in 1997. September 5, 1997, in Calcutta, West Bengal, India, Mother Teresa passed away. Having met her in person and worked with her Missionaries of Charity in 1992, 93, 96 and 97, and Patti having met her personally in 1996, we had a real close connection with her.

What are Patti and I going to do today? We have no idea. We have absolutely no plans whatsoever. Does The Shadow Know? Stay tuned and see what happened (if anything notable) in our Post tomorrow.

Meeting, being personally introduced to, and then working with Mother Teresa and her Missionaries of Charity physically IN Calcutta was a blessing and an honor Olga. Then having her pass away ON my birthday was stunning! It was 9pm in Calcutta and 9am where I was so it was numerically the same date, the 5th of September. It could have been split between two days.
