SEP 21, 23 (2/2) .. OUT AND OFF TO MANLEY HOT SPRINGS!

Today is : Thursday, September the 21st, 2023.

As is said : The Good Lord Willing And The Creek Don’t Rise, Patti and I will drive from Fairbanks out to Manley Hot Springs today to say good bye to our Cabin and to the Manley Community. 

That is IF we are feeling well and are able to make the drive. It could be raining (it was yesterday for most of the day here in Fairbanks) and that can turn the final 80 miles on a narrow (much of it unpaved) road into a treacherous muddy mess. BUT we really want to and need to make this trip NOW!

Yesterday was : Wednesday, September the 20th, 2023

We arose early at 8am (a full breakfast is included with our room) and enjoyed a gourmet breakfast. Then we promptly went “back to bed” to sleep some more. We got to bed very VERY late last night (actually early this morning).

This afternoon we did a “Tour of Fairbanks” to touch base with places and some friends that have become special to us over the past 25 years.

Singapore Rice Noodles!

Captain? Why on earth so many photos of Singapore Rice Noodles.

BECAUSE! Said smiling!

Patti and I both agreed our Singapore Rice Noodles were “as good as we’ve ever enjoyed any place in the world”.

Translation : We were starved for Singapore Rice Noodles!

Then after dinner, I led / was the Meeting Chairperson, with Patti beside me, at the front table of the Fairbanks Alano Club. It was a high energy meeting that I first attended in August of 1992 when I attended my very first ever meeting in the State of Alaska. A really positive experience.

Then friends from Manley that we’ve known for 25 years, who were passing through Fairbanks heading for Anchorage tomorrow, stopped by our motel for a great one hour visit.

A day doesn’t get too much better than today.

And, as you may have read in Part 1/2 above, today completes one full year during which WE ALL had a part in the writing and publishing of a Post here on dotnet for 365 consecutive days!

Please keep in mind that this Post was actually written and published Wednesday Evening, September the 20th.

Over And Out .. Bedtime .. We ARE tired.
