Patti and I are going to “take it easy” today. Both of us are tired after driving from Fairbanks out to Manley Hot Springs last Thursday. Then yesterday driving from Manley back to Fairbanks. While in Manley, we were both very busy sorting through our “former” belongings deciding what we hope to get to Anchorage. The very pleasant young couple who purchased our cabin are willing to bring what we would like to keep down to Anchorage. Both of them work “Up on the North Slope” in three week working periods. They fly back and forth from Anchorage so they make the Anchorage to Manley, and Manley to Anchorage commute every three weeks. So “on paper” it seems to work out for them to assist us in this way.

Yesterday was a very long and intense day driving 160 miles out from Fairbanks to Manley. It took over 5 hours due to some difficult road conditions. Then the two of us were up until past midnight going through our belongings in Manley deciding what we would like to keep.

Today we had to pack up and head back to Fairbanks where we will stay two nights heading for Anchorage tomorrow, Sunday, September the 24th.

It’s past our bedtime!

Cap and Patti
