OCT 26, 23 .. A MILESTONE .. SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2022 TO OCTOBER 26th, 2023 .. 400 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.
400 days?
Oh Trust Me. I have been “Doing The Math” for some time now.
We have published at least one Post here on dotnet for 400 consecutive days . There have been some days that we have published several Posts on one day.
Beginning on September 22nd 2022 and continuing through September 21st 2023 is 365 Days (I have counted them). To that add 9 days through September the 30th and you have 374 days. Add 26 days in October and BINGO! Today we have 400 days.
HERE IS THE RHETORICAL QUESTION: When will the streak be broken?
Occasionally any website needs to be “shut down” for maintenance and updating. To do this, Andrej, our webmaster, needs several days of time with the site offline. It has now been well over a year since we last updated the site. So sometime “soon” The Streak may end for this very necessary maintenance to be performed.
I have to be 100 % totally honest. IF any of you think, for one very short New York Minute, that there were “no days” when I told Patti, “IF I wasn’t working on The Streak I would not publish a Post this evening,” you have got to “guess again”. There have been MANY evenings when just lying down and going to bed was “the easier, softer way”. But I had promised myself that I would not “just stop The Streak with no good reason” and I haven’t done so.
Many times I have given credit for this accomplishment to each and every single one of YOU who follow us with your support. Without YOU and your support, and comments, and contributions (especially of photographs) there is no way this could have been accomplished.
Also one MUST HAVE LUCK!
This is a pure and unadulterated fact. For 400 consecutive days we have had internet access. No internet. No post. Period. We had to have the physical health necessary to write and publish posts daily. Some days have been long days with airplane flights and hotels to check into hoping their internet would function. Then it can feel like a challenge to write and publish a post after a long day of travel.
Other Difficulties .. Motel 6 in Phoenix is one challenging location. Often, not occasionally, but often, I have had to drag my laptop up to the front office to get onto the internet. There have been times when I accidently, or because of an internet glitch, I have totally lost a draft and had to begin anew! “Save Draft” procedures notwithstanding! It should never happen but..
This is why I emphatically state ..
SOMEONE UP THERE LOVES US!
Add onto the list of challenges the challenge of Daily living. Daily living can be demanding and exhausting! Shopping, preparing meals, medical appointments and health issues, quality time together with each other, etc!
The List could go on and on and on some more.
But it won’t.
