As you may recall, Frank is now down in Jacó, Costa Rica.

Lets get a little closer to see Frank in the above photo.

We ducked the snow here.  Instead, I hung my shirt from chairs twice today to let it dry out, when it was as wet as if I’d been sprayed with a hose.  

A friend here drove me around today. Jacó and its neighboring little hamlets has really developed since I was here in 2012!  I found some beautiful new places to stay but they would require me to rent a car.  I could do so but it’s probably out of my budget. I don’t really have a budget but I picked $2,500/month as reasonable here. But I’ll look into car rental.

Frank is now “into” 3 minute Ice Baths!

We stopped at another friend’s house and took ice baths. He has a small chest freezer that he keeps on its warmest settings.  It keeps the water around 38 degrees.  One submerges oneself to the neck for 3 minutes. It was very cold for the first 15 seconds. A pleasant/unpleasant experience when one is dripping from the heat and humidity.  The next 2:45 minutes I was comfortably numb.  I stayed an extra 20 seconds to make sure I had used up the full recommended 3 minutes.  It’s supposed to have all sorts of healthful benefits, not the least of which is overcoming our natural inclination not to freeze.  <;-D
