Sunday January the 21st 2024..
This was the final day of this year’s Balloon Festival. It was an off-and-on rainy day and many scheduled Festival activities were cancelled.

Oh Yes. The NFL Playoffs continued today.
We got the one win that we really REALLY wanted.
“Our” Detroit Lions won their game.
It was a”Nip and Tuck Nail Biter” of a game but the Lions prevailed. The Lions play the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday January the 28th.
After the Lions game, Patti and I went over to visit our great friend Michael and watch the second game with..

The Kansas City Chiefs traveled to Buffalo (who we were rooting for) and the Bills had their chances but the Chiefs deserved to win a competitive and hard fought game. The Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday.

Today Monday the 22nd of January
Patti and I are “planning” to go together across Lake Havasu on the Ferry to the Havasu Landing Casino and together play the slots Rambo and Wonder Woman. Patti also has a Ladies Meeting this evening.

I just love the balloons! Keeps reminding me of the song “Up, Up and Away” by the 5th Dimension which is now stuck in my head.

I love the pictures of the balloons. I used to see them frequently during the summer when I commuted to Napa, sometimes pretty close up, and they always put a smile on my face. I think the child in me gets a kick out of it.
I was rooting for your Lions yesterday. I will not be rooting for them next Sunday however. 49ers all the way!! (I hope!) Although if they do win, it will be pretty special since they haven’t advanced this far in decades.
I hope you and Patti had fun at the casino today. My exciting adventure this week will be going for a root canal on Wednesday. I have been in so much pain for a week now that I am looking forward to it.
Thanks Kathleen. I was born, raised and educated in the metro Detroit area. I have lived the greater portion of my adult life within the City Limits of San Francisco. I was living IN the city back when Joe Montana and Dwight Clark and The Catch beat the Dallas Cowboys and went to their first Super Bowl after two losing seasons. In all fairness, the Detroit Lions HAVE NEVER EVER been in a Super Bowl. But it’s a win win situation for me. I hope the Lions advance but if the 49ers advance, that too will be fine.
