FEB 4, 24 .. GROUNDHOG DAY REVISITED ..

We got the nicest comment from our friend and Ally Kathleen:

I woke up this morning (2/3/24) and thought “What happened to Ground Hog Day?” I am so used to seeing it pop up in the news feed every year. I did a google search to see if I had missed it or got the date wrong. If I had been more current in my babakaps.net reading, I could have avoided the confusion. Oh well, if that is the worst of my confusion, I can live with it.

Well Kathleen we “owe you” a report about our famous Groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil.

Did Phil see his shadow last Friday? Does more Winter await or is an early Spring in store for us?

Oh Oh!

Late Breaking News from Gullible who sent us the below disclaimer!

Well all we have to do is wait it out. In six or so weeks we will know IF Punxsutawney Phil was correct or if his exwife Phyllis is telling the truth.

Where Oh Where do these clever images originate?

Thanks Kathleen and Gullible!

Smiling.

I think Phyllis has it right but to be fair, Phil is probably about as accurate as most weather forecasters. When I lived in the Midwest, meteorologists’ reports were frequently very inaccurate. Here in the Bay Area (San Francisco), when they say the rain will start in the North Bay at 4 and in the East Bay at 5, I can set my clock to it. I suspect Mother Nature is more predictable here than across the flat plains of the Midwest.

Too funny Kathleen. Phil and his ex-wife Phyllis. Yes when I lived in San Francisco, we could pretty much count on our local weather reports. It must have something to do with the great expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Cap
