MAR 3, 24 .. SAFE AND SOUND IN PHOENIX

For What It’s Worth, it’s late Saturday night March the 2nd.

I just asked Patti to look behind me. She did but was confused.

I said “Patti can you see what’s holding me up?”

For What It’s Worth..

Bottom Line : Patti and I got out of our apartment in great time and had one of those as-good-as-it-gets trips from Lake Havasu City down to Phoenix. We were “on the road” at 10:40am and pulled into our West Bell Road Motel 6 at 1:55pm. Three hours and fifteen minutes. As good a trip time as we have ever accomplished.

It was a good decision to drive down on Saturday as opposed to driving yesterday, Friday. There were far, FAR fewer “6 Wheel Big Rigs” on Saturday than on an end-of-the-workweek Friday.

Oh BTW, Patti counted twenty three (23) Amazon Prime, tractor-trailer rigs (aka Semi’s) on Interstate 10 East into Phoenix. I order quite a lot of items from Amazon and have been doing so now for over 20 years beginning February 26th 2002. Each of the Amazon Prime Semi’s looked like a friend to me.

After we settled in our room we made a short shopping trip to our local Sam’s Club.

On our way back to our Motel 6 room Patti and I made a McDonald’s stop

March is Shamrock Milk Shake Month at McDonald’s.

Patti and I enjoyed one in Parker, Arizona, on Friday, February the 16th.

Yesterday (Saturday afternoon), Patti and I enjoyed another Shamrock Milk Shake here in Phoenix at our local McDonald’s on West Bell Road at 19th Avenue.

Do any of you “notice” anything “odd” about the above and below photos?

I did an “up close photo”.

We asked an employee why on earth McDonald’s is spelled WcDonald’s?

Poor, shy, very young lady just “shrugged” and said, “What do we know?”

Oh! BTW!

In Parker, Arizona, our Shamrock Shake cost us (hold on now) $7.04.

In Phoenix, Arizona, our Shamrock Shake cost us $4.55!

Go figure!

I took a 15 minute nap and out and off the two of us went to attend a 7pm meeting. I went to the Rest Room. When I came back Patti and the meeting host had agreed that I would give a short “Open Talk”. I did. Thirty (30) minutes.

Then?

Patti and I went to our local Asian Wei Chinese Restaurant and enjoyed our dinner in our room.

I’m about to fall down. So I am going to fall down in bed and not here at our laptop in our Motel 6 Room.

WOWIE MOTEL 6 ..

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, OUTSTANDING INTERNET this evening.

THANKS!

Cap and Patti

Gullible now I am going back to the 1960’s and “Truck Driving Lingo”. Back in the day, the Tractors were called a 6 Wheel Peterbilt, a 6 Wheel Kenworth, a 6 Wheel Freightliner, a 6 Wheel Mac, a 6 Wheel GMC Jimmy, a 6 Wheel White. To the question “What are you driving?” .. You would say “I am pushing a 6 Wheel Peterbilt with a 6 speed Spicer Main and a 4 speed brownie box.” Drivers were known as gear jammers. Look at a tractor from the side and you see 3 wheels. One at the front and two at the rear. The other side also looks the same, 3 wheels. So there you have your 6 wheels. 3 Axles and 6 wheels. Yes Oh Yes I know, the two rear wheels were duals. So actually you had 10 wheels on a tractor. Get it? So you have 10 wheels on the tractor and 8 wheels on the semi-trailer thus you were also pushing “An 18 wheeler.” Smiles .. Cap

Not only did we enjoy the Shamrock Shake Ginny, we went back for another one today, Sunday. Their milkshake machine was down and broken and out of order. So we went to another McDonalds and got another one. Smiles and Joy. Cap and Patti
