BIG THANK YOU GULLILBLE

In our recent posts we have shown some of the WcDonald’s logos we are finding here at our local Phoenix, Arizona McDonalds.

And the “Tried and True” more familiar logo.

Before I begin I will say this: It sure helps when you like, when you get “good vibes”, from your new doctor.

Then your new doctor calmly says (after we had done a little chit-chat) .. “I was with the Mayo Clinic for twelve years.”

A Little Bit of That..

Hello trouble, come on in!
Talk about heartaches, where in the world have you been?

Hello Macular Degeneration. Hello Trouble!

Just “in case” someone wants to know “a little something” about Macular Degeneration, you may want to click onto the below Mayo Clinic link.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/wet-macular-degeneration/symptoms-causes/syc-20351107

Gullible is correct. There is a “world” of information online about Macular Degeneration.

About five years ago, my Ophthalmologist in Anchorage told me that I had warning signs of approaching Macular Degeneration. Based on her advice, I have been taking two AREDS (Age Related Eye Disease Studies) Mini Soft Gels for the past 5 years. Last November, she gave me a “clean bill of health” and now here I am.

The below photo “nails it”. Gullible can you see how I could comfortably drive with this condition coupled with a normal right eye?

The fuzzy circle in the right photo above is called a “cloud” or a “curtain”.

Let’s go way back to 1999. Way back in 1999, an Ophthalmologist in San Francisco told me that I had cataracts developing in my eyes. Did I do anything about them? No! Finally, in 2013 I hit the “Y” in the road. I never have another drivers license or I get cataract surgery.

For fourteen years  (1999 to 2013) I was somehow able to pass the driver’s license eye tests.

In one test, I read off the letters. My tester said quietly to me .. “Sir. We are looking for numbers here!” So I whipped off some numbers and was good-to-go for five more years!

For fourteen years I could NOT fathom, I could not imagine, someone operating on my eyes. MY EYES!

I had the cataract surgery and it was “a joke”. No strain. Absolutely No Pain. I spoke with my Ophthalmologist as he was operating on my eyes. First my right eye. A week later my left eye. Also, during cataract surgery you see an incredible, fascinating “Light Show”!

My appointment with my (now) Lake Havasu City Ophthalmologist lasted “about” two hours. It was quite an appointment.

Yes! I have age related, wet Macular Degeneration.

Patti was “by my side” 95% of the time. She said ..”I could not look when your Ophthalmologist inserted first one, then two and finally a third needle into your eye.”

Neither did I ! But even if I had wanted to do so, it was impossible for me to see “the goings on”!

The first needle was an anesthetic. The second needle was another anesthetic. The third needle was “business” and aims to begin the process to stop the bleeding in my left eye retina. This bleeding in the retina IS Macular Degeneration.

Now every six weeks I will have the process repeated.

IF I don’t focus on it, it really was no pain, no strain. At dinner Patti said .. “Your eye is blood shot Cap.”

My left eye said to Patti .. “If you just had three needles put into you, you’d be blood shot too!”

To repeat : IF I don’t focus on it, it really was no pain, no strain.

Yes. My left eye is “a tad sore” but only a tad IF I don’t focus on it!

Still Standing. Still Smiling. It’s been one “heck of a week” for the two of us Sports Fans!

Cap and Patti

Gullible! Thanks So Very Much for your Guest Contribution. It “lightened up” this Post.

Captain, don’t focus on it, it really was no pain, no strain.

Okay, holy s… Uh, bull droppings. You have wet MD? I have dry and as yet, no problems are apparent. Icky with the needles. I wouldn’t look either. Yes, I take an AREDS pill.

      1. Gullible

Not yet. But, my MD is dry, which progresses slower. Diagnosed four or five years ago and was very “subtle” then. Also Fuch’s corneal dystrophy which affects the cornea.

Wowie Gullibe!! I had hoped that “just maybe” I might “just possibly touch” someone with this Post. I had absolutely no idea that it would be YOU that I touched!! I am so pleased to have at least maybe “touched” one other person. But it doesn’t make me happy that it was you Gullible who has MD!! Your Ally .. Cap
