Andrej is my one, and my only, webmaster here on dotnet. In early August of 2011, Andrej and I discussed my having a website.
Voila!
August the 16th, 2011, we (a website is a we affair NOT a my affair) published our first Post here on babakaps.net (aka dotnet).
Without Andrej, I wonder if I would ever have had a website (a web log aka as a blog). I will never know.
This Post is the two thousand five hundredth (2,500) Post here on dotnet.
My mission was to continue to share with all of my friends my world travels. I say “continue to share” because sharing my world travels actually began back in early January of 1991 when I began to hand write For What It’s Worth (FWIW) and mail Xerox copies of it to a select few friends who then made additional copies of FWIW and mailed them to other friends.
I believe that, in 2008, I began to type my FWIW journals and distribute them via email.
And beginning August the 16th, 2011, FWIW here on dotnet came to life.

The sole mission of my writings had always been focused on sharing my world travels.
I returned home after 14 months in Asia from October 2018 to December 2019. Shortly thereafter, in March 2020, came the covid-19 pandemic and, coupled with my advancing age, an end to my world travels.
What to do? I didn’t want to lose the content of 8 years on my several websites so I continued my writings but they focused more on Patti and my lives.
Then I began to solicit input (topics, photos, comments, etc) from YOU, and incorporate YOUR ideas into our writings and here we are on “Our” website. You all now have a forum to share your thoughts, photos, etc.
Without all of YOUR input over the past four or so years, babakaps.net would have ceased its existence.

I’ll say it again. If you value your travel writings, they should be transcribed in digital form.
Then you can share them with us again.
Gullible, I did just that several Posts ago on FEB 23, 24. I posted a link to parts 1 and 2 of a 4 part year 2008 series of writings that I published.
