APR 1, 24 .. A LITTLE BIT OF THIS.. A LITTLE BIT OF THAT..

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS..

Here it is. Another Monday. Two “Monday” events.

1. My neighbor Eddie and I will be out and off to the Havasu Landing Casino at 1:00pm this afternoon. I am really looking forward to our visit. I am really enjoying “matching wits” with Rocky, one of my two favorite slot machines.

I have my plan and so far, I continue to work my plan. Today? We shall see what we shall see!

2. This evening Patti will attend her Monday evening ladies meeting.

A LITTLE BIT OF THAT..

NATIONAL TODAY IS WHAT DAY?

Are you all sitting down? There are thirty three (33) “holidays” listed for April the 1st!

We all know the below National Day!

NATIONAL TOM FOOLERYS DAY | April 1
Founded in 2024 by National Day Calendar® and Kalahari Resorts & Conventions.

April Fools’ Day .. is on April 1 and it is a day where many of us unleash our most creative sides, all in a hilarious – sometimes over the top – attempt at bamboozling those around us.

Why do we do this, and where did it start? There isn’t a concrete conclusion by historians. Every April 1st some of us put on our pranking caps to plan out the most devious and diabolical, yet safe and playful pranks we can think of, making this 24 hours possibly the most fun, exciting, and anxiety-filled day of the year!

What on earth is Dyngus Day?

Dyngus Day.. is named after ‘Smigus Dyngus’. It is a Polish and Polish-American celebration on Easter Monday to mark the completion of Lent, and this year, it falls on April 1. The happy tradition includes many festivities including parades, parties that begin in the mid-morning with a buffet of traditional cuisine and last until after daybreak on Tuesday. Previously, on Easter Monday, the males would shower water on the girls and tap them with pussy willows. The females would do the same to the boys on Tuesday. Nowadays, at current Dyngus Day celebrations, both men and women swap water and pussy willow equally — because it is one of the earliest plants to bloom in the spring, the branches of these plants are the day’s greatest prop.

This one is for Patti.

Edible Book Day .. is also known as National Edible Book Festival, and it is celebrated on April 1. It was first celebrated in 2000 after Judith A. Hoffberg and Béatrice Coron started this event to commemorate the birthday of the famous gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, a French lawyer and politician.

Edible Book Day .. is an international event where edible books are created, presented, photographed, and consumed.

My Dearest Patti, My Book Reader, have you ever consumed an edible book?
