APR 5, 24 .. LAKE HAVASU LIBRARY.. GREGORY McNAMEE..

In our opinion, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is one incredible place. Our being here is all thanks to our friend Michael, who we knew for over 20 years when he was living in Alaska. With great foresight, Michael moved here, purchased a home, and settled. We came here to visit Michael back in 2017 and Voila! Loved it.

Yesterday afternoon, we attended a presentation at the Lake Havasu Library, about the Arizona Desert.

The presentation was given by Gregory McNamee.

Gregory McNamee is a writer, journalist, editor, photographer, and publisher. He is the author or title-page editor of forty books and more than 8,000 periodical publications, including articles, essays, reviews, interviews, editorials, poems, and short stories. He has been living in Arizona for fifty years so he “knows Arizona”.

We were very happy that we had a “full house”. The library conference room was full of (I’d say 95%) Senior Citizens.

I snapped a few photos to give you an idea of his presentation.

Perhaps 50% of the way through his talk, his computerized Power Point presentation “acted up”. In spite of the valiant efforts of a computer-savvy library staff member, the remainder of his talk was “hit and miss” with regard to his color slides.

Being a real professional, he “Soldiered Through” nonetheless.

This was how the color slides looked when the program was working.

I then “edited” some other photos I snapped.

Arizona’s State Bird.

An exceedingly complex “Desert Map” covering parts of Northern Mexico, California, Nevada and Arizona.

His final words were..

We are living here in..

Thank you Gregory and thank you our Lake Havasu Library staff for a very enjoyable presentation.

Thank you for taking us along with Gregory McNamee’s presentation. It sounds very informative and educational. I’m also elated to see you and Patti participating in the endless social activities here in our quaint low desert paradise! You and Patti, as yourselves being ‘globe trekkers’ have shared so many of your adventures, too. Did you have any opportunity to engage Gregory in conversation on a more personal level? With his Power Point presentation going ‘south’ on him I was waiting to hear that you, Cap, our much advanced computer guru, had come to his rescue! lol Thank you for the link to Greg’s website.
I hope you both have a Truly Blessed weekend.
    Michael

Thank YOU Michael for being the “driving force” that brought us here to this amazing city, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. You betcha. Patti is right up on the numerous (staggering) local events constantly in progress. NO way could I have jumped up to Gregory’s rescue with Power Point because I have never used it. I just “know about it” Michael. No I did not get the opportunity to visit, one on one, with Gregory. Happy to know you checked his website. Smiles .. Cap and Patti

The two of them, Iowa and South Carolina, played last year 2023 in the Women’s Final Four and Iowa won! Then in the Women’s Final Championship game LSU won be a sizeable margin over Iowa. Thanks Gullible for your interest. Cap and Patti
