Yesterday, Sunday the 14th of April we had..
THE 2024 MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT
It really and truly seems like, in fact it is our “reality”, Patti and I have watched The Masters for many years.
Last year, April the 9th, Easter Sunday, 2023, we certainly watched The Masters.
Then, because our website here had NO Golf categories older than 2023, I slowly and very thoroughly “went back in time” each and every single April to April 2012 (I had not yet established dotnet in April 2011) and found absolutely no mention of us watching The Masters in other years. For one thing, most of the years I was out of the country during April.
Our Reality was certainly NOT Reality! Nothing New Here Sports Fans.
And “back when we did watch The Masters” we loved it.
Today, the three major television sponsors we saw (AT&T, IBM and Mercedes Benz) had quiet, classy, and enjoyable commercials. NO loud busy violent commercials! Four (4) minutes per hour!
And we loved it. We totally and we thoroughly enjoyed The 2024 Masters.

THE FINAL, SEASON ENDING GAMES OF THE NBA National Basketball Association.
Your Captain did a “little bit of multi-tasking” during The Masters, checking out the NBA games, especially our friend Michael’s Los Angeles Lakers and several other games that were pivotal to the playoffs.
The 2023-2024 NBA Regular Season is 100% complete.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the SoFi MBA Play-In Tournament determines the 7th and 8th place teams.
Friday April the 20th the Championship Tournament begins.

During the Month of the Military Child, Purple Up! Day on April 15th recognizes some of the military’s most unsung heroes – their children. The Military
The day encourages everyone to wear purple representing all branches of the military and showing unity with each other. All across the country and around the world, military children play a significant role in their schools, youth organizations, and communities. When we wear purple in their honor, we let them know we support them in all branches of the military – Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Space Force. Whether they are a part of the military family for a short while or their entire childhood, the military child deserves to know they have the support of their community.
HOW TO OBSERVE PURPLE UP! DAY
Wear purple to show your support for military youth.
Schools and military installations also host events recognizing the sacrifices military children make.
Local businesses and organizations also hold celebrations throughout the month of April, especially when the 15th lands on a weekend.
IF you are able, consider some of these events for your school or organization: Invite your former and current military employees to share photos of their children. Change your social media profile to a purple frame. Recognize military children during events. Feature a military child on a school, organization, or club website, invite a military parent or child to speak at your school, business, or organization.
All of this was new news to yours truly and Patti too.

NATIONAL TAX DAY.. April 15th of each year is National Tax Day. In the United States, the term “tax day” refers to the day on which individual income tax returns are due to the federal government. The day may also refer to April 15th for state tax returns.
The Federal income tax filing deadline is midnight on April 15th of every year, with extensions occurring when the 15th lands on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday. In those circumstances, the returns are due the first succeeding day which is not a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday.
It is relatively easy to get an extension to October the 15th, 2024. BUT, if you owe money, THE amount IS DUE today or you may pay interest.

Re: the Masters…not having any skin in the game I choose to watch Lakers, who won (it was a preview of their Tues game against N.O.) and the Dodgers, who, with the high-dollar stars, are not really playing all that well. Still, they lead their division by a couple of games! It is still early in the season and there’s plenty of baseball to be played, eh? More will be revealed! I’m looking forward to our ‘date’ on Wednesday afternoon!
