MAY 10, 24 .. NATIONAL TODAY.. COLD IN ANCHORAGE.. LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOM..
NATIONAL TODAY..

TRUST YOUR INTUITION DAY.. We celebrate Trust Your Intuition Day on May 10 each year. The main objective is to encourage people to take control of their lives by making a decision and following through on it. It is celebrated by being courageous and taking risks. It also inspires learning something new about yourself along the way. For many years, experts dismissed intuition and saw it as a pseudo-science. Studies have since progressed and established intuition as a vital part of human brain functions. This celebration is a reminder to put that power to good use in our daily lives.
Intuition is the ability to gain knowledge without using conscious reasoning. The term intuition is used in a variety of contexts, including full access to unconscious understanding; unconscious cognition; internal detection; inner understanding of unconscious pattern recognition; as well as the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning. The word is derived from the Latin verb ‘intueri,’ which means “to consider,” or from the mid-late English word ‘intuit,’ which means “to ponder.”
Intuition, defined as intuitions based on personal experience, has been proven to be helpful for business leaders when making decisions about people, culture, and strategy. This type of example compares intuition to “feelings and emotions” and, when applicable, demonstrates preconscious activity. According to Sigmund Freud, knowledge could only be obtained through the intellectual manipulation of carefully made observations. He rejected any other method of acquiring knowledge, such as gut instinct, and his research results could have been an analytic turn of his mind toward the subject.
We all have intuition, whether you know it or not. The more you use it, the more you can learn about the positive effects. With time, you can begin to trust it and use it to make decisions to improve your daily life. The human brain is divided into two parts: the conscious and the subconscious. The latter is where intuition lives. Intuition is developed by analyzing patterns collected from life experiences. These patterns allow us to make informed decisions in high-pressure environments. This can be making fast decisions about situations and deciding right from wrong or real from fake. All this happens in the background and we are often not aware of it until it comes to the fore.

NATIONAL CLEAN YOUR ROOM DAY..
How is this after the above “cerebial” (primarily intellectual in nature) dissertation about intuition!

With the exception of people who are born organized neat freaks, we can all admit our rooms can get chaotic from time to time. To the delight of parents and more polished family and friends, May 10 is National Clean Your Room Day. Research into the holiday doesn’t reveal who founded it, but for those of us who may need it (or have family, friends, and roommates who do), it’s nice to have a holiday that reminds us to get our act together — starting with our rooms!
The Below Is Too funny!!
Make sure your parents also clean their room. Children and teenagers are usually the culprits of messy rooms, but some kids have messy parents. Even if they aren’t messy, it’s fun watching parents complain about doing chores too. You can even help your parents decide which old items of theirs they should throw out or donate!

Thursday, May 9th, 2024..
After Winter in Arizona, Patti and I are “downright cold” back home here in Anchorage, Alaska.

Any “Desert Rat” (one who lives in the desert) would be cold at 41°F that “feels like” 37°F.

And! Let us, allow us, to say this .. All of the local Anchorage folks were “dressed for cold weather”! NO T-Shirts .. NO Shorts..
And? It is dark and it is overcast as well.
Looking out from our living room at our “green strip”.

Rain and dark overcast.

Then it began to snow. Yep. May the 9th snow in Anchorage.

No! Of course not! The snow did not stay for one New York Minute BUT it sure put a “damper” on the day.

What on earth to say?

Thursday, May 9th, 2024..
We now have nice heat in our Condominium and the time had finally come to move back home.
We checked out of our Motel 6 at 10:30am.

Instead of heading for our Condo..
We went straight to our local Emergency Room.
THE REST OF THE STORY..
Friday, May 3rd we flew from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Seattle, Washington, then after a short but hectic layover, we flew North to Anchorage, Alaska.
Airports and Aircraft seem to be “harbors” for diseases.
Last Monday, Patti was not feeling well. So (coughing and a sore throat) Patti did a Covid-19 test. It was negative (the test showed Patti did not have Covid-19).
Things continued to go downhill. Last night (Wednesday night the 7th of May) Patti coughed and coughed all night long.
As we pulled away from Motel 6, I said to Patti.. “We are going straight to the Emergency Room (E.R.) at Alaska Regional Hospital!”
We did!
Patti (with me beside her) spent two hours in the E.R. She was given a test for Covid- 19 (it was negative) the flu and the respiratory virus going around (also negative) along with chest X-Rays and a blood draw.
Patti was diagnosed with early stage pneumonia. She was given an inhaler and prednisone with a prescription for 3 additional days of prednisone and 7 days of an antibiotic. She is still coughing and it hurts Patti to talk.
Sports Fans! This has NOT been an easy homecoming!
Cap and Patti
Oh, no, not again. Patti sure seems to be plagued with respiratory problems. Hope she recovers quickly. At least she’s home.
We also hope Patti recovers from this unfortunate medical challenge but we are not optimistic it will be quick Gullible. Yes Patti has had her share of respiratory problems. Thanks for your support. Cap and Patti
My heart is breaking to hear of Patti’s early-stage pneumonia. And both of you having to endure the cold rainy dark skies seemingly so late in the year. I think your trip home has been the ‘perfect storm brewing’ traveling through all the germ-laden hops-n-stops! And to get home to a lack of warmth to let your bodies heal! You know that my prayers for Patti’s healing and quick return to good health are endless. And prayers that Mother Nature sends you some light and warmth.
Love you both to the moon…and back!
Michael and Little Bit
Not good news the early stage pneumonia diagnosis Michael. No doubt about it, traveling in and out of several airports and airplanes is a real risk to one’s health especially we senior citizens. Thanks for your support Michael.
My prayers Continue for a quick recovery for Patti’s return back to total good health! Indeed, it has been a difficult homecoming! May God strengthen and comfort you both during this difficult time!
Thank you so very much Ginny. It has been a most challenging time for the two of us. Your support certainly is a big help! Cap and Patti
