A WALK TO THE PARK..
Taking walks to our local Park is definitely something Patti and I do. So the below National Day Calendar “Day” fit right in for us.

National Walk to a Park Day on October 10th encourages us to walk to our local parks. Feel the wind on your face. Take in the fall weather. Visit with neighbors. Play with your children. And appreciate all the benefits green spaces offer communities.
Public parks and green spaces are a community’s backyard. They offer nearby residents a place to play, connect, and reap the benefits of the outdoors. Parks are an essential part of improving public health. They provide a place to play, exercise, and commune with nature. They support equitable and thriving communities. And they protect communities from the impacts of the climate.
Yet, 100 million people, including 28 million kids, do not have access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk from home.
Taking a walk at a local park is an excellent way to clear one’s mind from the stresses of the day, re-energize, and at the same time, improve health.
Our Local Park.

There you have it for Taking A Walk To A Park!

Don’t forget that NATIONAL TODAY / NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR.. Are the sources of most, but not 100%, of the information on our various “Days”.

- OCT 11, 24 .. A TOUCH OF WINTER 2024-25.. SPAM COMMENTS.. JEREMY QUIPS..
Parks are wonderful. Growing up, the park about a block and a half from my parents house was a common destination for me. Going down the big slide, swinging on the swings, the merry-go-round during the summer months. In the winter, they flooded a square block to make a skating rink. I was there almost every night, having fun with my friends, gaining new bruises when I fell. A much larger Park several blocks away had bigger hills that were perfect for sledding in the winter time. There was a large park on the south side of town bordering the zoo. We had many picnics there and of course many visits to the zoo. Good times!
Wow Kathleen! Such happy memories of your “Childhood Parks” back in North Dakota. Yes! Parks are indeed wonderful. Cap and Patti
