NOV 4, 24 .. SURVIVOR.. DALTON ROSS.. OUR GREAT PLEASURE TO BE INVOVLED..

I just sat down this Sunday evening, November the 3rd, 2024 and Voila! Another Post pretty much wrote itself..

Yes! I know! Patti knows! Few, very few of you, follow Survivor. 

BUT Samantha (aka Survivor Sam), Ginny and Jerry are three friends who will enjoy this Post.

This Post is more about Your Captain and Patti than it is about Survivor per sé, the television reality show.

Patti has been following Survivor from day one (Survivor: Borneo, premiered on May 31, 2000).

Seeing Patti’s great interest in Survivor, I came into the Survivor Family 20 years ago in late April 2004, when I watched several of the final episodes of Survivor All-Stars, aired on television from February 1st to May 9th, 2004. Amber won. Boston Rob was runner-up. I will never forget how Lex got blindsided by Boston Rob!

Yes I have missed many seasons when I have been out of the country.  But I have always remained a fan following shows through Patti (when she was home in the United States). She too has missed some shows following me all over the world!

DALTON ROSS..

Dalton Ross is associated with Entertainment Weekly (Dotdash Meredith brand). I couldn’t find exactly how long he has been doing Survivor Recaps but it has been at least ten years, probably longer.

Dalton has been covering Survivor for a decade or more, and I always enjoy reading his recaps and opinions on Survivor, his cheeky digs at Jeff, and his insider insight into the gameplay and twists. EW has always been a favorite of mine because they tend to not be the normalized “trashy entertainment gossip” rags you see so much. So anyway, thanks Dalton! I hope you continue your work as long as Survivor is on the air.

Patti and I agree that Dalton’s recaps (aired maybe one or two hours after a show has aired) and interviews with the contestants (especially with those who have just been voted out) are absolutely amazing. 

Last week I just found out you can officially sign up (provide your email which they verify, name, etc et al) to read comments made by other fans as well as ask Dalton himself questions.

“Cap where on this good earth have you been?” /signed/ Dalton Ross and all “Super Serious Survivor Fans”.

As you can see below, I am now an “Official Super Survivor Fan”.

How do those voted out know who voted against them?

Megan in her below comment has a point. Each contestant writes down, by pen, the name of who they are voting against. And so after 8 tribal councils, perhaps the others could remember handwriting! We are dealing with very clever and highly intelligent contestants.

In a comment to another follower, Dalton said: “I may be wrong!” So I “kidded” Dalton with the below comment.

Our interest in Survivor episodes is equal to any sporting event. Yes! The Survivor three hour season finale ranks with the Super Bowl!
