THE 14th HAVASU BALLOON FESTIVAL AND FAIR..
Today, Thursday the 9th of January, there were NO Hot Air Balloons “flying in the sky” today!
In Part 1/2 below I stated that the “ideal” wind speed for flying Hot Air Balloons is from 4mph to 6mph with a maximum safe wind speed of 8mph to 10mph.
Look at what we had today for wind.
From 11 mph at 7 AM to 22 mph at 12 PM.
Then this afternoon..
22 mph up to 23 mph totally unacceptable wind speed for safe Hot Air Balloon flying.
And Tomorrow? Does even The Shadow Know?

A lot of Hot Air Balloon Teams travel a long way and have considerable expenses as they follow their “circuit”. What a shame the winds have arisen and, at least for today, put a serious damper on the weekend.
