MAR 9, 25 ( 1 / 2 ).. GET OVER IT!.. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.. OUR LOCAL CAR SHOW..
GET OVER IT!!
Jim ( here in the program in Lake Havasu City, we all know who you are ) when I saw this “Holiday” on NATIONAL TODAY / NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR “Holidays”.. I instantly thought of you and said to myself, “I have got to Post this Holiday”.

For those of you who don’t know Jim, he is a very large man. When someone is “into self” Jim may just slap the table with his open hand and loudly say “Get Over It.”
I have “mimicked” Jim with good results.
So Jim, this opening Holiday “is just for you”!
On National Get Over It Day, on March 9, people everywhere are encouraged to self-reflect and move on from whatever it is that’s weighing on them. Created by Jeff Goldblatt — an entrepreneur who was having trouble getting over an ex-girlfriend, the day has its roots in failed romance — something that’s very challenging to get over! Realizing his pain was relatable, Goldblatt made a website and posted a poem. The rest, as they say, is history (the relationship included). Today, let’s take some time to self-reflect, figure out what’s weighing us down, and decide that the past should live in the past.
Let’s get started and get over it!
National Get Over It Day starts with one guy going through a breakup — what’s more relatable than that? Atlanta native entrepreneur Jeff Goldblatt strategically positioned the new holiday between Valentine’s Day and April Fools after he realized so many people would relate to the difficulty he was having getting over his breakup.
To get the ball rolling, Jeff started a webpage and wrote the poem that truly started the holiday. It’s called “The GetOverItDay.com Purpose & Perspective Poem,” and you can go read it, listen to it, or watch it on YouTube, today!
A plethora of books, movies, and songs dedicated to getting over it have been made. Ok Go’s song, ‘Get Over It’ was released in 2002, as was Avril Lavinge’s ‘Get Over It.’ ‘I’m Movin On’ by Rascal Flatts, ‘Shoutout to my Ex’ by Little Mix, and ‘DONE’ by The Band Perry are also centered around moving on and getting over an ex.
Besides music, movies about breakups have been both blockbusters and important mediums for the heartbroken to find their peace and get over their breakups. Some of the most popular movies are “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” (1998), “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001), and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004). Self-help sections in libraries and bookstores are positively jam-packed with breakup advice and books to help get over life’s stumbles and failings. Some popular titles include “Get Over It: Thought Therapy for Healing the Hard Stuff” by Iyanla Vanzant, and “Getting Past Your Breakup” by Susan G. Elliott.
After his poem went viral, Jeff added more to his website, including Get Over It Day merchandise and an audio clip telling whoever’s listening to get over it. Today, anyone can go to his website and pick up some jelly bracelets that read “it could always be worse,” then email info@getoveritday.com about exactly what they’re getting over and, once it reaches the other side, it will be printed out and shredded! The interesting site has garnered much attention. If you’re curious, go check it out!
Before you can move past whatever is making you confused, hurt, or angry, you have to know what exactly it is. Aggressive emotions often mask vulnerable ones, so spend some time today figuring out what’s the true cause of your issue — a professional can really help with this!
Write out what’s bugging you! When your problems are on paper, it’s much easier to keep them out of your head, and it helps you organize your plan to fix them. While you’re at it, write out the good things in your life, too, and put them in a gratitude jar! Life gets better the more grateful you are.
If you just can’t think anymore, put on some of your favorite upbeat tunes and go for a jog or have a dance party! Moving around is sure to keep you in the moment, and exercise will release the feel-good endorphins that will leave you feeling much more optimistic.
In multiple studies, exercise (especially if done regularly) has been proven to alleviate anxiety, improve overall mood, and dissolve stress.
According to psychologists, the best way to get over something is by allowing yourself to feel emotions and letting time pass.
There are few things that feel heavier than carrying a mental burden alone. No matter what is weighing on you, learning to put it in the past will clear up the path to the future, and leave you feeling like a free person!

Jim, when you have “Get Over It” tattooed on the back of your right hand, I hope to be there with you!

Yes. Yes Indeed. It’s DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME today for many of you.

Yesterday, it was 7pm in the evening, Patti and I were driving and Patti said to me, “Tomorrow, it will be 8pm with this amount of daylight.”
Silly huh?
Here in Arizona we DO NOT GO ON DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.
Daylight Savings Time begins on March 9 this year. It is the practice of advancing the clocks by one hour from Standard Time during the summer months and reverting the clocks to Standard Time in the autumn. The fundamental concept is that doing so will help us all to create better use of natural daylight: putting the clocks forward one hour in the spring will give us more daylight during summer nights while changing the clocks back one hour in the fall would give us more daylight during winter mornings. Thus, Daylight Saving Time helps us save energy and reduce costs.
Benjamin Franklin came up with the notion of resetting clocks in the summer to save electricity. People could use the extra evening daylight instead of wasting energy on illumination by setting the clocks forward. Announcing his ‘finding’ that the sun delivers light as soon as it rises, Franklin penned a humorous letter to the “Journal de Paris” in 1784.
But it was William Willet, an Englishman, the first true proponent of Daylight Saving Time. It came to him early one morning in 1907 while riding his horse. Despite the rising sun, he noted that many houses’ shutters were tightly sealed. Every four Sundays in April and September, Willet spent tens of thousands of dollars pushing businessmen, politicians, and members of the U.S. Congress to move forward 20 minutes. But his plan was largely mocked. The practice was condemned as a sin by one group.
Yes. Oh Yes. There is more. IF you want to read it all, just click onto the below link.

HA! How fortuitous! I was grousing to a friend about how much I hated changing time. She reminded me that it is a minor problem compared to all the other troubles in the world. One of my friends calls a problem like this a ‘gold-plated problem.’ If that is the worst that happens to my day, I am blessed. I have a second gold-plated problem today – wearing high heels. I haven’t worn them in a couple of years. Next weekend, I will be part of a wedding – I chose to wear a dress and I have no appropriate flat-heeled shoes to go with it. So I am wearing said heels around the house in the hopes I won’t fall over when I wear them for several hours next Sunday. I had worn high heels for many decades starting in high school (no pants for women even with the brutally cold ND winters). I feel like a baby trying to walk. :-) I will consider myself super lucky if I make it through the next week without an ankle sprain or worse :-( …
You named it Kathleen. A Gold Plated Problem for sure unless you fall and injure yourself.
