It was on March the 23rd, 2024, just over one full year ago, that I “Discovered”, here online, NATIONAL TODAY and NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR..
Because it truly has been a great gift to me, I now wish, that this past March the 23rd, 2025, that I would have made more of a fuss over our first year.
Today I “Was just casually Surfing” NATIONAL TODAY and NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR.. I did not find anything “all that special” to post here but thought you all might get a chuckle out of ..

The below writing borders on being ridiculous! Well at least for we “City Dwellers”!
National Ride Your Horse to a Bar Day is celebrated on April 2 every year. This day encourages people to do exactly as the name says ― ride their horse to their favorite bar and enjoy a drink, just like a cowboy! This holiday is recent; it was created in April 2021 by a man called Dale Garwood. Strangely, horses have a long history with bars and pubs, many of which were ‘coaching inns’ with stables attached for horses to rest or be changed for the long journey the following day; many of the oldest surviving pubs still offer such services.

Then, as I continued to casually “surf” through NATIONAL TODAY APR 2, I came upon Marvin Gaye’s birthday and “read about it closely”.
I REALLY liked, and I still do, the hit song, I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE.. written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for Motown Records in 1966. Another single was released in 1968 and sung by Marvin Gaye.
In October 1968, his version of the song went to the top of the Billboard Pop Singles chart for seven weeks from December 1968 to January 1969, overtaking the Gladys Knight & the Pips original version as the biggest hit single on the Motown family of labels up to that point.
Then, I was absolutely STUNNED when I read the below..
Marvin Gaye was shot and killed by his father, Marvin Gay Sr., on April 1, 1984, the eve of his 45th birthday, at their home in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, following an argument.

Darn it! Snowing today otherwise I’d mosey on down to the barn, tack up Chuntay and ride 2 (long) blocks to the bar to celebrate with a lemonade. We’ll make up for it soon!
