APR 29, 25.. MY CURRENT PROJECT..
After we landed here in Anchorage last Thursday night after our flight up from Las Vegas and Seattle, with bags and baggage, Patti and I got a taxi and headed for our truck.
Guess what? The batteries (it has two premium batteries) were totally dead. So we got a “jump start” and drove our truck home to our Condo.
Just the drive home “charged” the twin batteries enough so our truck started fine Friday morning. Then I did some freeway driving Friday out to the Veterans Hospital and home. Then I went down to a shop I frequent and asked them about getting a professional re-charge.
I do have a brand new “trickle charger” and showed it to my mechanics. They said: “Sure Cap! Use it!” They showed me the correct setting: 2 amps charging a pair of 12 volt batteries with an automatic “shut off” when fully charged.
Well, after perhaps 5 hours per day, for four days (Friday – Monday) the batteries seem to be “just fine”. But I will continue my regimen none the less.
In the first photo below, you can hardly see the “Trickle Charger” on the ground on the drivers side of our truck.

It is sort of a sweet little unit.

The business end of the project.

The Charger has a special feature that will not allow you to put the positive charging cable on the negative battery post. Misconnecting the cables by accident and you risk blowing up your vehicles electrical system!
Short! Yes! Sweet? We hope so!

12:04am, Tuesday, April the 29th. We just had a 4.7 magnitude Earthquake “Jolt”!
It “joins” jolts on the 23rd, the 25th and yesterday the 28th of April.
- APR 28, 25.. CANCER AND ALCOHOL.. CIRCADIAN RHYTHMS and SLEEP..
- APR 30, 25.. BOOKS and CHILDREN and READING..
Welcome home to the land-of earthquakes.
Hope your batteries didn’t freeze while they were dead, but if they’re taking a charge, I guess they’re okay.
No the batteries didn’t freeze Gullible. They probably survived because of the “warm” winter this past “winter”. The “jolt” last night was a 4.7 magnitude “jolt”. Assume you did NOT feel it. Thanks for your comment Gullible. Cap and Patti
Not feel it? Jolted me out of bed.
Wow! Here it was just one very noticeable “jolt”. Cap and Patti
