OCT 20, 25.. INFORMATION OVERLOAD.. OSTEOPOROSIS..

NATIONAL TODAY..

Yes! I know. We are repeating ourselves. We’ve said the below many times before!

We do not “idly at random” select NATIONAL TODAY Holidays!

Patti and I want to have actual experience with, or our very own interest in and curiosity about each, and everyone of the NATIONAL TODAY Holidays we select here on dotnet.

Then, with our own “Fingers Crossed”, we hope that maybe, just maybe, some of you too are interested in our NATIONAL TODAY Holidays.

Within the past hour, before I sat down here to write this Post, I experienced, first hand, in my face, Information Overload on our Kroger’s Mobile Phone App.

Yet again a Mobile App has been revised and updated and I was totally unable to find my Kroger Fuel Points Balance!! So I either call Kroger’s (a time consuming call) or visit my local store Customer Service Desk (another time consuming visit).

So maybe, just maybe, one or more of you “knows what we are talking about!! Information Overload!!

INFORMATION OVERLOAD DAY..

Information Overload Day comes up on October 20 every year.

Information Overload has been defined as “excessive amounts of data or information that can lead to detrimental, computational, physical, psychological, and social effects.”

From social media and online news to emails and text messages, we’re constantly bombarded with a plethora of information.

Jonathan Spira, in 2009, via his research firm, Basex, cited information overload as their “Problem of the Year”.

When a person is burdened with a large amount of information, it can affect their ability to process daily life issues effectively.

Avoid sharing or consuming excessive amounts of information that is not necessary or beneficial.

Step back from all the noise. Take a much-needed break from the incessant influx of media.

Connect with the person next to you.

Ask Patti. I myself really work at filtering out news and other information that I am totally powerless over to change and that I don’t want affecting me!

World Osteoporosis Day was number one, the first and the foremost, NATIONAL TODAY Holiday for October the 20th.

And just what on earth is my interest in Osteoporosis Day?

On January 31st 2017, I was diagnosed with Male Osteoporosis and began a regime of once a month medicine that went on for well over two years.

If you really want to know more, please click the below link and go back to our Post here on dotnet dated January 31st 2017.

Not only did I deal with my Mayo Clinic medical team, I was in close touch with my Doctor over in Hong Kong who felt at worse, my osteoporosis was very mild. It was nice to have two medical opinions.

It could have been at the four year mark. I honestly don’t know exactly when my Mayo Clinic Medical Team told me “Time to stop. The monthly medicine (150mg Risedronate Sodium) has done all it is going to do.”

World Osteoporosis Day on October 20.

Osteoporosis renders bones so frail and brittle that any slight action including even a sneeze or a fall can be life-threatening, causing never-ending pain and discomfort from entire bone breaks and fractures.

Get this! Prior to 1994, osteoporosis wasn’t even considered a major disease.

You can’t reverse osteoporosis but with the right treatments, you can slow down its effects.

Just in case you would like to read more about Osteoporosis, you can click onto the below NATIONAL TODAY website by clicking onto the below link.

I rebel when I get information overload. Oh how I strive to use minimum technology. 😀
I’m always amazed at what a techie you are Cap.
Well, stay warm and well. We should be able to move on Halloween. Shop by end of November (?) maybe…hopefully. Animals coming the week of Christmas when you’ll be all warm in AZ.
Well, thanks again for great posts.
