Yes!

BUTTONS!!

Why not?

Count Your Buttons Day is celebrated each year on October 21.

‘Counting your buttons’ can be a fun and practical activity.

Well! “So Sayeth” the NATIONAL TODAY writers!

I believe this: The creator of this unusual, unofficial holiday remains unknown.

Buttons have been around with us for eons. Buttons go way back to the Indus Valley Civilization, 2000 B.C.

This will be the last Button tid-bit.. Charles Dickens wrote an article titled “What There Is in a Button” published in “Household Words,” a weekly journal by Dickens.

I use BUTTONS each and every day when I am in bed sleeping or napping.

I have two Down Filled Comforters.

One side is dull, not glossy. The other side is shiny, and very slippery. I much prefer the dull, not glossy side against me. I use a large BUTTON so I know which side (dull) is against me.

When I am sleeping, I also use two towels, one green and one brown, as “Eye Masks”. To tell the side I want against my face, again I use buttons.

In the above and below photos are buttons for my green towel “Eye Mask” and two for my brow towel “Eye Mask”.

Below is the last (I promise) photo of one of my Buttons in use.

Everyone Writes Day is celebrated in the United Kingdom on October 21.

An ancient Mesopotamian poem from circa 1800 B.C., called “Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta,” gives the first known story of the invention of writing.

The history of literature begins with the history of writing, but literature and writing, though connected, are not the same.

There are five types of writing: expository, descriptive, persuasive, narrative, and journal or letter writing.

This topic really would be of interest to Teachers giving them ideas on how to stimulate students to write.

Celebration of the Mind Day is observed on October 21.

Celebration of Mind (CoM) is meant to unite people for a day to explore puzzles, games, math, and magic. Even if math is not your thing, this day has got something fun in store for you.

I know. I could not find something fun in store for me.
