NOV 13, 25 ( 2 / 2 ).. WET MACULAR DEGENERATION UPDATE..

Yesterday, Wednesday, November the 12th, 2025

Today I had my tenth (10th), Age-Related Wet Macular Degeneration (AMD), medical appointment here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

My previous appointment and my last (the 9th) eye injection was last August the 19th, a little under three months ago up in Anchorage, Alaska.

As we were driving to our appointment I actually said to Patti ..

“I wonder IF my Doctor will perform injections into my left eye? Wouldn’t that be something if he said that I didn’t need additional injections?”

The point of the previous 9 eye injections has been to stop the bleeding in my left eye. The injections are not supposed to be a life long process.

Last February the 25th, 2025, my Lake Havasu eye Doctor told me that, because of my previous six eye injections, the bleeding in my left eye had stopped!

However he did not stop the eye injections, giving me my 7th injection on February the 25th, 2025.

In Anchorage, I received eye injections on May 29th (my 8th) and August 19th (my 9th). I did not discuss with my Anchorage Doctor the fact my Arizona Doctor said that the bleeding in my left eye had stopped.

This brings us to today, November 12th, 2025.

Big.. Enormous.. Excellent.. Outstanding News.

After he had completed today’s examination, My Doctor said that he was not going to administer an eye injection. He then scheduled me for an appointment in three months, February the 13th, 2026 and said “Come into my office immediately IF the current conditions of your left eye changes.”

In a preliminary study of 106 people with “wet” age-related macular degeneration, Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers report that as many as a third of those with the blinding retinal disease may someday be able to safely stop eye injection therapy without further vision loss.

Lifelong monitoring is necessary.

To those of you have been interested in my macular degeneration and have continued to ask me for my updates I say Thank You So Very Much. I WILL continue to keep you posted.

    Wow! That is wonderful news!

I am trying to catch up on posts and am happy to hear the bleeding has stopped, and you don’t need any more injections (at this time),

Thanks so very much Kathleen for your support. Yes! Great news BUT I still will be getting regular checkups every 12 weeks which I can easily accept and live with. Cap
