This is a very first ever with Patti and me and NATIONAL TODAY.
I saw the below NATIONAL TODAY Holiday..
But it was not the name Nova that attracted me to this Holiday.
It was the NATIONAL TODAY Redhead.
Patti and I have seen her previously.

The modern donkey has two ancestors, both subspecies of the African wild ass, namely, the Somali wild ass and the Nubian wild ass. Current evidence suggests that donkeys have been working for humans for centuries. Donkeys are bred all around the world for their various uses. Donkeys helped build a society by providing energy before there was electricity or steam power. They can travel long distances, they are sturdy, somewhat self-sufficient, and they can bear some really harsh conditions.
Donkeys are respected and celebrated for their strength and diligence. They do not shy away from work. They are capable of pulling cargo for miles, which is where the idea of donkey pull carts comes from. They can work much longer and harder than most other animals. Their running speed can get up to 31 miles per hour. Their life span is between 50 to 54 years. They are considered a wonderful gift from nature. There are millions of donkeys all over the world and they have a significant impact.

Tim just came out of successful shoulder surgery. Whew. I will see him in a little bit. Thanks for this post (a pleasant distraction)!

Whew Kit. Now Tim begins his road to post operation recovery. I have opted NOT to deal with my own torn injured rotator cuff BECAUSE, unlike Tim, I am totally retired and, unlike Tim, I am not working !! If I was working twisting wrenches I too would probably have to have shoulder surgery. The recovery process is a challenge according to friends who have experienced it. We hope Tim recovers fully and uneventfully. Cap and Patti.

Wow I didn’t know they could live that long. That’s amazing. I love Oatmen and wish I could return. Maybe someday. A girl can dream.
Yesterday, my Facebook memories showed a picture of me from 2010 with very red hair. I should have downloaded it and sent it to you. Sadly, the memories only appear for a day then they are gone until next year. I loved having red hair. Some of it was natural but only showed up in certain light so I had to improve on it.
Yes the Donkeys / Burros do have long lives Kathleen. How nice that “Once upon a time” you visited Oatman, Arizona. Those various “memories” on Facebook and other platforms (Google) do come, stay awhile, then disappear for another year or sometime forever. You have to grab them with screen shots. Smiles ..
