The first NATIONAL TODAY Holiday, Senior Health and Fitness Day, was basically a “No Brainer”.

I had absolutely no idea THAT..

National Older Americans Month is observed every May..

It recognizes the vital contributions and achievements of older adults, while highlighting aging trends and strengthening support resources.

SENIOR HEALTH..

I think that probably 95% to 98% of you following along here ON DOTNET are Senior Citizens with, at the very least, from time to time, minor or major or even life threatening health challenges.

I thought long and intensely about the second topic that I have named above..

I will go into this second topic, MENTAL HEALTH, after we finish with SENIOR HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY.

National Senior Health and Fitness Day is celebrated on the last Wednesday of May.

It is a day dedicated to the betterment of the health of seniors. The common goal is to help senior Americans stay fit and healthy. Numerous organizations around the country organize events to spread the word about the importance of eldercare and the various ways of doing it. There are also local events organized at neighborhood parks, gyms, and other similar places.

Heart Disease and Cancer are the number one health problems in America.

Only 3.6% of seniors above the age of 65 are in nursing homes.

And now.. Taa Daa.. the other topic..

MENTAL HEALTH ..

I cut my own hair. I have no Hairstylist. BUT .. I do have Mental Health issues.

Patti has a Hairstylist BUT I don’t think that Patti talks to her about any significant personal issues.

And this topic gets into the fact that Hairstylists DO help, and DO assist, some of their clients, and THAT IS A VERY GOOD THING that they accomplish.

Here on dotnet we like People Helping Other People.

So I am now going to leave it up to you!

Patti and I..

Honor.. Salute.. Thank Hairstylist’s..

For The Good Some of Them are doing listening to their clients.

I don’t think I’ve ever divulged anything to a hair stylist. But I’m not one to say a whole lot about what’s going on in my life except to my close friends and therapist if I happen to be seeing one at the time. If I get a chance, I’m going to try to remember and ask one what is his like. I would think that would be a little stressful, people looking to you for help with some wild problems. I just want a good haircut.

Kathleen I totally, 100% agree with you ! No way am I going to burden my hairstylist with so much as one single word about how my day, or how my life is going.

“How are you doing today Patti?”

“I am doing one day at a time thank you.”

    Smiles Patti
