APR 19, 14 .. SERIOUS SNOW-REMOVAL AND STORAGE IN ANCHORAGE ..

Here in Alaska .. during the winter .. we have snow.  Some of you reading along here would say .. “You have a LOT of snow.”

Because the ambient temperatures remain below freezing for weeks or even months at a time .. the snow does not melt.  What to do?  It MUST be removed in order for people to live semi-normal lives such as walking outside to put household trash out for collection .. driving automobiles to get to work and to shop and visit doctors .. ETC!

I have shown here on this web-site many photographs of what I will now categorize as minor snow-removal-storage piles in and around our condominium here in Anchorage Alaska.  Over at .. bobba caps doxology .. I have shown many more such examples of these local snow storage piles.

Each of the several photographs below are ‘relatively’ minor piles of snow right here in our neighborhood.  The snow must be removed and placed ‘somewhere’!

I mean it is mid-APRIL and we look out of our condo bedroom window facing to the north and we still see? Snow!

OK OK .. “Capain! This IS a ‘program-of-honestly’ ” I heard one-of-you cry out!

OUT back looking to-the-south you see another .. quite different view of mid-April at our condominium.  There still is some snow there too (tee-hee-hee).

You can see by observing the water in the below photograph that in mid-April the snow IS melting.

During the heart-of-winter there is an almost constant stream of trucks hauling snow into this enormous snow-disposal-site to dump their load-of-snow so that the front-end-loaders .. similar to the one shown below .. can move and stockpile the snow efficiently.

What we are talking about here is a massive and expensive process each and every single winter!

‘Zilla sent me an e-mail asking for .. more photos of snow in Anchorage in April .. OH YES .. we still have SNOW!
