JUN 14, 26.. A SMALL VICTORY FOR YOURS TRULY..
This happened the day before yesterday, on Friday the 12th of June.

Patti loves (frozen) Red Grapes on her breakfast cereal. Lately Red Grapes at Costco have been $9.99 for a three pound tub.
Friday is a bonus day for gasoline points per dollar spent at Fred Meyer our local Kroger Store. Instead of earning one gasoline point per dollar spent, on Friday you get four gasoline points per dollar.
So out and off I went with our shopping list in hand.
I bought everything on our list and came home with a copy of the Fred Meyer Sales Brochure for this week.

Two things.
1. I did not read the Sales Brochure I got for Patti. So I did NOT see that three pound tubs of Red Grapes at Fred Meyer were on sale for $6.99, three dollars less per tub than Costco.
2. I did not check the price of grapes in the produce area.
I got home, went back to bed with Patti.
We got up later in the afternoon around 5pm.
Patti read the Sales Brochure and excitedly said .. “Cap! Red Grapes are on sale at Fred Meyer for $3 off !”
I did not want to go back out! Period! Friday rush hour traffic! Items would likely be sold out! Etc ! Blah! Blah! Blah!
Patti apologized for bringing this to my attention!

Then I got to thinking!
How sad! Patti is sad because she mentioned the sale price of grapes! Why even get a Sales Brochure for Patti if I am not going to honor it !!
After about 15 minutes of my wringing my hands I told Patti .. “I am going back to Fred Meyer!”
“Why Patti asked?”
“Because I don’t want this to happen again in the future. I know full well what we get, I know you love red grapes, and if I am not going to honor a Sales Brochure I won’t get one !!”

1. They still had lots of Red Grapes in stock.
2. I got three tubs saving us $9.
3. I earned 84 additional gasoline points.
4. I.. got.. it.. off.. my.. mind! Because I did the next right thing!

No Big Deal Huh?
For me it was a Big Deal ! A lesson I will not have to re-learn.

Wowie. Patti and myself, along with about Nine Million New Yorkers are thrilled !
I never, never ever, thought for One New York Minute, that I would be passionately rooting for any New York City Sports Team!
