Patti grew up raising fresh vegetables.
Patti shares with us.. When I was 10 months old my parents decided to relocate from Connecticut, where they both grew up, to Southern California. Our home in California was on a large lot adjacent to a 10 or more acre farm. With my parents help, our back yard was an oasis of fresh foods.
We ended up with 14 fruit trees and a huge garden as well as chickens for fresh eggs. Every day throughout the year we gathered eggs, picked fruit and harvested fresh vegetables for dinner and for salad to go with our dinner. Frankly, I hardly remember going to the grocery store. My Dad loved fishing also and did it often. I DO recall going to the grocery store with my Mom one day when I was about 7 years old and was AMAZED that stores had fish for sale. I had a great “fresh food” start to my life!!

FUN EATING..
You all have to know that National Fudge Day was number one, sitting at the top of the list, of NATIONAL TODAY Holidays!!

National Fudge Day sweetens the calendar every June 16th.
Fudge is typically classified as a type of candy, specifically a confection. Its rich, dense texture and high sugar content place it firmly in the candy category, often enjoyed in small pieces. However, it can also serve as a decadent dessert component or a standalone sweet treat after a meal.
Fudge is widely believed to have originated in the United States around the late 19th century, likely as a happy accident. The most popular theory suggests a confectioner ‘fudged’ a batch of caramels, resulting in the distinctively dense, crumbly texture we know today. Its popularity quickly spread through women’s colleges.

Smiling we two.. Cap and Patti
You know I have to chime in when the word chocolate comes up. Yum, fudge! At Christmas, my mother was amazing. Different kinds of cookies, candy, kuchen. My favorite was the fudge. She would make a large batch and freeze most of it so we could have a little bit every week. I loved that fudge, frozen or thawed. 😊 It brings back very fond memories of my family.
Hi Kathleen. How nice! How very nice that this Post brought back some very fond memories of your family and Chocolate Fudge. Cap and Patti
