JUN 30, 26.. SOCIAL MEDIA DAY.. GULLIBLE.. MACULAR DEGENERATION DAY..

Today, Tuesday, June the 30th, there are only ten (10) NATIONAL TODAY Holidays. BUT.. It only takes one and one there is!!

Social Media Day was established by Mashable in 2010 to celebrate social media’s role in connecting the world, a medium that has grown from 0.97 billion users in 2010 to more than 5 billion by 2025.

Whoa!! Who?? What is Mashable??

Mashable is a global digital media and entertainment website that regularly reports on internet culture, technology, and news. In its coverage, Mashable frequently documents Wikipedia’s community updates, such as the strict policies volunteer editors have instated against using generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) for creating or rewriting encyclopedia articles.

What is.. IS!! For the longest time I took  pride in declaring that I was not part of, nor would I ever be active in, Taa Daa, Social Media!!

I have been active on, and really using, WhatsApp since the day, on the day, September the 25th, 2019, almost seven years ago, that I purchased my first smart phone in Mongolia! Beck my friend in Ulaanbaatar set up my phone and instantly installed WhatsApp!!

WhatsApp is number 3 on Wikipedia’s list of Social Media Platforms!!

YouTube is number 2 on Wikipedia’s list of Social Media Platforms!! I have been on and using YouTube before I was on WhatsApp..

So much for my “Reality” of actually believing I was not on Social Media!!..

Cap’s Wet Macular Degeneration Day..

Today is Tuesday, the 30th of June, 2026. 

Oh My.. Oh My .. The clock of time has again moved forward.

Here we. We?? .. Here I go this morning around 10:20am in Anchorage, with my 16th (how time flies when you’re having fun) eye injection..

First .. It does NOT hurt at all. But Yes!! it is uncomfortable!!

It bothers me that I can’t just close my eye and ignore what’s going on!

Second .. It IS saving my eyesight !

First they numb my left eye with two series of eye drops.

It’s just “The Idea of having two Needles (0ne for additional numbing and one to inject the medicine) inserted into my left eye” that bothers me.

Yes Oh Yes! For Sure Patti will be in the room with me “cheering me on”.

Update: Tuesday, June the 30th, 8:45pm.

We are doing this update primarily for ourselves so we can “look back” if we want, or need, to do so. We also do it for anyone of you who may be interested.

On the 0 (worst) to 10 (best) rating scale today was a 10!! It was stressful but it always is stressful. Yes, there was discomfort, but there always is discomfort. I am not looking for what will never be. But there were no surprises and it was as “routine” as it can possibly get!!

I return in six weeks for another eye injection. As my Anchorage Doctor has been doing here, he injected “Vabysmo”.

My Lake Havasu City, AZ, Doctor has always opted to inject “Avastin”. I spoke directly with my Lake Havasu City Doctor’s head nurse and after talking with Dr. Sipperley she advised me that “Yes they also use “Vabysmo” and highly approve of it no problems at all”.
