AUG 25, 26.. BANANA SPLIT DAY.. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE DAY..
Today we had two NATIONAL TODAY Holidays that Patti and I could really relate to.
Interesting! NATIONAL TODAY itself considered our two Holidays as their top two Holidays as well.

Let’s begin with..
National Banana Split Day.

National Banana Split Day celebrates this iconic dessert every August 25th.
Fascinating.
David Evans Strickler, a pharmacist’s apprentice in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, is credited with inventing the banana split in 1904.
While working at Tassell Pharmacy, he enjoyed experimenting with new soda fountain sundaes. His creation, featuring a banana split lengthwise and topped with ice cream and various sauces, quickly became a sensation, especially among college students who were willing to pay double the price of a regular sundae for the novel treat. Strickler’s innovative spirit brought one of America’s most beloved desserts to life.

Now onward to..
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOUNDERS DAY..

Every August 25th is National Park Service Founders Day, a holiday that recognizes the dedicated individuals who established and continue to preserve America’s invaluable national parks.
The National Park Service was established on August 25, 1916, by President Woodrow Wilson.
Prior to President Woodrow Wilson, as our nations chief executive from 1901 to 1909, President Theodore Roosevelt, the noted conservation president, had an impact on the national park system extending well beyond his term in office.

This was my BINGO !!
The Devil’s Tower, Wyoming !!

The Devil’s Tower, Wyoming (above), was the site of the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
In my opinion Close Encounters was the very best science-fiction movie I have seen.
We did a Post about the movie Close Encounters on our Google Blogspot website.
