FEB 11, 18 .. LUNCH AT MUNCHY’S CAFE IN NEEDLES, ARIZONA

Disclaimer : When you get to the end of this Post, you will probably ask yourself : “Why did Cap bother with this Post?”

My answer to your rhetorical question is : JUST BECAUSE.

Oh Come On! Didn’t one of your parents ever tell you : “Just because!”

Yesterday was the one day of the month when I take the Risedronate for my male osteoporosis. As such, I stay vertical for several hours. I managed a full three hours because I could take a nice walk in the cool morning air. Finally I settled in with my laptop down in the Colorado Belle’s casino area standing fully erect with my laptop on a bar.

Since we had to pack up and check out of our hotel, I was up at 5:30AM and began my walking at 6:10AM finishing at 9:10AM. Then it was pack up and check out. We were given until 12 Noon to check out. I did manage to slip in a full hour of additional sleep.

During my walk, I snapped the below photos of the Colorado Belle, our hotel in Laughlin, Nevada.

You are seeing the Colorado River above.

Dinner last night in Bullhead City, Arizona, at the IHOP. Detroit Tiger Tom treated us to a very nice breakfast-dinner.

Lunch at Munchy’s in Needles, California.

I have a real (quiet) love affair with Needles, California. Way back in August of 1958, I was a young Marine returning to Camp Joseph H. Pendleton with my new bride with me. It was hot as blazes when we came through Needles and I thought to myself as we passed, “What a hot and God Forsaken place this is.”

A special display.

The famous Route 66 passed through Needles.

We went on Trip Advisor and found Munchy’s Cafe to be highly rated.

As we drove past Munchy’s Cafe to park our truck, Patti said, “It it not very pretentious is it?”

Munchy’s Cafe fronts onto the enormous Needles Railway Yard.

Munchy’s Cafe certainly is NOT pretentious is it?

Patti was ‘quite taken’ by the tender paper napkin holder.

Patti said, “That is a tuna salad sandwich with a ‘side’ of tuna salad.”

Our Chicken Salad was excellent.

I love ‘extra’ salad dressing. The salsa was also very good.

“Patti?” .. “Yes My Dear One?” .. “When have I ever said to you, ‘The lettuce in this salad has to be the freshest lettuce that I have ever eaten! ‘ ” .. “Never.”

I mean to tell you the lettuce was THAT good.

Our home-away-from-home for Saturday night the 10th of February 2018.

“Why me God?”

We booked and we paid for a room with one queen bed. As I was checking-in, Tamara said to me in a matter-of-fact tone of voice, “I am upgrading you to a king bed.”

Well that is that sez Baba Kaps sitting back down on his stone,

Fixing to spend one hundred years of talking to God alone.

With Joy

“Cap? Why did you bother to write and publish this Post?”

Lord God in Heaven Above Gullible, I order tuna everywhere because I LOVE tuna and from the Trip Advisor reviews I assumed it would be a good sandwich, which it was. So happy you enjoyed the Post. Smiles, Cap
