Yesterday’s VERY long (it was complicated for me to put together) post here on dot.net, coupled with getting the above post on blogspot put together and published, really took some energy. As a result Your Captain is tired out today.

Smiling .. It was 5°F here in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, this ‘crispy’ morning. Bright sunshine and clear blue skies and a wonderful day all things considered.

Post Script : Can any of you baseball fans believe what the Washington Nationals are doing to the Houston Astros in the World Series? 

Washington 12 – 3 Houston yesterday IN Houston who have lost home-field advantage big time.

    Enjoyed the additional post on Hong Kong in that “other neighborhood”, blogspot. It is no wonder you are tired. Each and every one of those posts really takes a lot out of you. I have watched the process and there is so much that goes into the process from the thinking to the pressing of “publish”. And then, there are all of your other daily activities there. Not many people would understand the energy expended to just go out and cope with the buses, the foreign language, the search for things you need when you do not know, really, where to find what you need. Tiring to say the least. So, naps are allowed and encouraged! Smiles and love, Patti

    Hey Cap,
    Just got your last post card today and no I cannot believe that it’s been over a year for this present journey of yours. I am glad that you are keeping up with the construction crews over there. I do have one question though, I thought it was placing cement and pouring concrete.

    However I will defer to your expertise. Know that several here are with you in Spirit. Love you and look forward to seeing you face to face again, Ben & Diana.

      Thanks Ben for letting me know you received a post card. Ben, at least back when I was in the field, and things could have changed, in-the-trade you NEVER used the words to ‘pour’ concrete. Back then you ‘placed’ concrete. The worst sin of all was to call concrete ‘cement’. Concrete is a combination of (1) aggregate (2) water (3) Portland Cement and (4) often some additives (high early, air entrained, etc). The high slump mix they are using is so wet that in reality it is being ‘poured’ but you still say it’s being ‘placed’.

    Cap, Enjoyed the ferries, kind of like Istanbul. Enjoyed the paving project. When 18 and 19 I spent the summers on the county bridge crew. Working the cement was always hard work. Thanks for the memories, Greg
