DEC 4, 19 .. MAYBE I WAS WRONG .. THE WORST BUS RIDE EVER ..
NOV 17, 19 I published the below post..
At that time, I felt that the NOV 17, 19 bus ride was the worst bus ride ever for me here in Ulaanbaatar.
This evening the bus ride out Peace Avenue was just terrible. I could not even begin to get onto the first several buses that arrived at my stop. Then, back to back, arrived two route number 47 buses. When I spied the second one arriving behind the first one, I raced to get to the second bus because the majority of patrons were trying to board the front bus. And it worked. I got aboard and then had an empty space right up front where I could erect my cane stool. I texted Patti and then suddenly the smash-crowding pressed upon me as to almost take my breath away. As a matter of self preservation, I forced myself into a standing position and this proved a good move. As I write, my body aches from the pressure of people smashing against me.
So far it is just another terrible bus ride. What catapulted it into the category of the worst ?
UNTIL TONIGHT, THIS HAD NEVER EVER HAPPENED TO ME..
In four years, commencing July of 2015 until this evening..
I have never ever, not one time, missed my bus stop.
This evening, by the time I realized where we were, I’d by-passed the next bus stop after my correct one and was approaching the second stop after mine.
This catapults the ride tonight into The Worst Ever Bus Ride Category.

Just when you think the worst bus ride ever is behind you, here came one that was even more challenging. I don’t think I could cope with that kind of crowding .. so much so that you said your body aches from people smashing against you. THEN, you missed your stop .. the opportunity to end this crunch. I now wonder, did you then have to get another bus to get back to your stop, or did you walk? From your text when you were on the bus, I surmise this was about 7 pm or a little after 7 .. the evening crowd there in Ulaanbaatar. Yikes. Hugs and soothing sympathy. Patti
First, NO, I did NOT walk back two, long bus stops. I crossed Peace Avenue and caught an inbound bus that was NOT crowded. The way I was feeling it would have been dangerous for me to walk back in the cold and in the dark of a winter night. I thought about it and decided NO WAY I’ll ride back. A good move. NO WAY would I even think of asking you to ride one of these smash-jammed crowded buses. Thanks for being there for and with me. I was in bed before 9pm I was exhausted. Much Love .. Cap
