APR 15, 13 .. ANOTHER VISIT TO MY RESTAURANT AL BAIQ ..

Let’s celebrate a re-visit to AL BAIQ here at this website. AL BAIQ is pronounced as a combination of BIKE and BOIK.  A difficult Arabic word for me.  It is my favorite restaurant here in Kodaikanal.  I did a long Post on Blogspot about AL BAIQ and some of the photos below you have seen.

TAKE-OUT ORDERS are sent home in ‘bags’ they make from newspapers!

A closer look at the TAKE-OUT ORDER bags hand-made from the local newspapers after they are read and finished.  This is a WOW!  I just love it!

I know!  You ladies want to see Jugendra again!  Hello Bollywood!

ALBAIQ 004

And this very morning I ‘ran into’ Jugendra as I was walking on-the-street and talking to Patti in Alaska on my cell phone.  I said to Patti .. “Do you want to say hello to Jugendra?”  The below photo shows Jugendra and Patti talking on the cell phone .. Kodaikanal India to Anchorage Alaska!

ALBAOQ

I MEAN .. ARE WE HAVING FUN HERE?  OH YES!

OH!  That’s correct!  AL BAIQ is a restaurant.  How about a plate of Masala Dosai for breakfast. 60 Rs Indian ($1.20 US Dollars)

MASALA1

On the right above is coconut chutney.  Tomato chutney is the next moving left.  The two on the left are sabar chutney.  They are room temperature but they are a ‘tad’ spicy.  The Indian people use the large rice pancake to tear into pieces and dip into the chutneys.

Another view with the chutneys right in front of you.

MASALA2

I ATE-IT-ALL .. hot peppers and everything!  Then I ‘paid-the-price’ for devouring all of the chutney.  ‘Mexican Heartburn’!

MASALA3

I think that I could live-my-life-out eating only Tandoori Chicken. Half a chicken costs 180 Rs Indian ($3.60 US Dollars).

TANDOORI

Tandoori Chicken is SO GOOD!

Then again .. so is the below Chicken Sheek Kabob!  150 Rs Indian ($3.00 US Dollars).  You see Yogurt (Curd) and Mint Chutney in the bowls.

And the Al Faham Arabic Chicken.  180 Rs Indian ($3.60 US Dollars).

2ALBAIQ 004

OH YES there is always Chicken (Tandoori) Tikka.  The food at AL BAIQ is phenomenal.  Chicken Tikka is 150 Rs Indian ($3.00 US Dollars).  Tandoori Chicken has the chicken on-the-bones.  Chicken Tikka has solid pieces of chicken breast cooked in the Tandoori Over with the tandoori spices.  The mint chutney in the bowl is to-die-for good.
