Something IS happening here .. What it IS ain’t exactly clear .. For What It’s Worth

Colin Cowherd says .. Two things make smart men stupid, Beautiful women and sports.

I was reading a chapter from Colin’s book, ‘You Herd Me!’ and he was waxing prolific about drinking water ..

I quote from his book : “Eight large glasses of water a day .. This was fact, no debate allowed .. Even as a kid I knew this was bullshit .. Eight large glasses of water a day. Who lives like that, a dolphin? .. Where’s Colin? He’s in the bathroom, where he has spent the majority of his lilfe.” Colin went on to say he googled it (drinking 8 large glasses of water a day) and it is basically an old-wives-tale long ago outdated! Colin ended the chapter writing : Some one get me a glass of water!

Patti went out yesterday afternoon to get grapes at our local Fred Meyer store. I asked Patti to either call me, or text me, when she was coming home so I could meet her out front and carry the grapes into our condo. Trust me, five packages of grapes weigh from 10 – 12 pounds and for Patti, that is heavy and they are bulky even in shopping bags. I had both of my phones turned on with the speakers activated. The speakers on my phone live their little lives ‘muted’ and that my friend is why I often don’t answer my phones when YOU call me. 

I have three active smart phones. Their names and order of importance are Alaska, Michigan and the third one I seldom use is named Fairbanks. 

Finally Michigan rings. I was expecting Alaska to ring but Patti called me on Michigan. I got out to the truck and carried the grapes into our condo.

Long story short after a short discussion about her calling on Michigan, Patti said “I called you on Alaska. You didn’t answer. I texted you on Alaska. You didn’t respond. Finally you answered Michigan.”

So out came Alaska. NO missed calls. NO texts from Patti. I showed Patti and we both shrugged. BUT I was concerned because IF Patti needed (as in REALLY needed to get me) we both have to know our phones are working! 

Back to Colin Cowherd and his dissertation about drinking 8 large glasses of water being bullshit! 

So later yesterday afternoon, after dinner, because of Colin’s writing about water, I idly picked up my Fairbanks phone to google .. AMA drinking 8 glasses of water a day ..  And, sure enough Colin is absolutely 100% correct !!

And I idly noticed that my Fairbanks smart phone had 1 missed call and 1 unread text message. And? Sure enough. Patti had called and texted my Fairbanks smart phone which I did not have with me as I was waiting for her to call and text.

So? It gave both of us great relief to KNOW absolutley what happened. If you can’t trust your phone in an emergency you’ve a problem on your hands.

And? Something was happening as the above tale unfolded.

This is what Covid long term brain fog does to one’s mind Sports Fans.
