DEC 13, 22 .. TODAY IS PATTI’S MEDICAL PROCEDURE AT THE MAYO CLINIC

Today is why we are here at the Mayo Clinic this trip. The doctor who has been treating Patti for her Barrett’s Esophagus, will perform two routine procedures, one following the other.

Patti spent last night preparing for today’s procedure. She had to ingest a prescribed liquid every 15 minutes over three hours last night and one hour this morning. We will check into the Phoenix Mayo Clinic at 11:30AM. The 30-minute dual procedure will begin at 1PM. We’ll then return to our motel where Patti will rest for the balance of the day today.

After I bring Patti back to our motel, I will take our truck across the street to our Chevrolet dealer for some routine maintenance tomorrow (Wednesday the 14th).

Monday, December 12th

Yesterday (Sunday the 11th) when we checked into our Motel 6 here in Phoenix, we found that the door lock for our room would not work. We would pull the door closed (sometimes pulling it closed VERY FORCEFULLY !! ) and it would not engage !! Even the strong wind outside would push it open. Because of the properly working, manual door safety latch, we felt safe staying in the room. I was up and in the motel office this morning at 7AM. The manager came with me to our room and he saw-for-himself the situation. He assured me he would have his maintenance man at our door at 9AM when he was due to come on duty. I was in the motel office at 9AM and sure enough, the maintenance man and I walked back to our room.

The problem turned out to be the metal piece embedded into the wood of the door frame. He removed it and replaced it and VOILA !! We now have a soundly working door lock to our room. Interesting, this same maintenance man helped us with a leak in the ceiling of another room here. He recalled his visit.

And ??

(1) We attended the noon meeting we had planned on visiting. And we saw two very close friends who came to the meeting especially to see Patti and me.

A few of the very pleasant Christmas decorations we saw at our noon meeting at the NSFC.

From our chairs.

Up close after the meeting. Very nice !

So on a 0 (worst) to 10 (best) scale our day Monday was actually a 10 (the best it could be).

By The Way .. When we are traveling, I am not able to post each and every single photo that I snap and I feel sort of sad when so many photos never make their way into a Post.

(3) In this vein, below are several Christmas Decorations we enjoyed during our stay from December 3rd to the 11th at the Edgewater Casino Hotel up in Laughlin, Nevada. I feel bad when so many photos never make their way into a Post here on dotnet.
