APR 1, 23 .. aka “APRIL FOOLS DAY”

APR 1, 23 .. Get It? April .. 1 .. 2 .. 3 ..

I just now “Googled” April Fools Day. Then, from their endless list of choices, I went to Wikipedia. Going back in history, there seems to be NO clear and concise rhyme nor reason for April Fools Day. Below is a link to the Wikipedia resource.

Maybe tomorrow, and maybe not, I will “look back” on today and share anything of interest that happens to Patti and me today, April Fools Day, 2023.

Friday the 31st of March 2023

On the proverbial zero (worst case) to ten (best case) rating scale, today would have to rate somewhere around a +20. An absolutely outstanding day.

Yesterday : Rain and Wind

Today : The weather was beyond outstanding. Clear skies, 65°F to 70°F, sunny with a pleasant wind. No traffic issues.

I began to “pack us out of our room” at the Edgewater on Thursday night. What I could do I DID. So this morning, I was at least a full hour “ahead of the game”.

Getting into, and out of, one’s hotel is so much more of a chore than it is at a motel where your vehicle is outside your motel room door. Out of our room, down the elevator, out of the hotel to our truck. Back into the hotel, up the elevator, to our room and do it over again. I made ten (10 count them) trips down and up again.

However there are so many things that can only be done ON the day of travel. The night before, I can not pack up my CPAP sleep apnea breathing device, my dental items, our kitchen items (we need to eat breakfast ON the morning of our travel day), etc and on and on and on. Check out time was 11am. We were checked out of our room, and we were in our truck and moving at 10am. We made several stops leaving Bullhead City AZ (Sam’s Club, Sonic Drive In, Walmart, Smith’s).

Sonic Drive In

What on this good earth was Sonic about Captain?

We wanted to compare a Sonic Slush with a Circle K Froster.

Sorry Sonic ! There IS NO comparison!

Then we made more stops as we entered Lake Havasu City AZ (Wendy’s for Frosty’s, Circle K for a Froster, Walmart for prescriptions, Smith’s Grocery Store).

Then it just takes us time to unload, unpack and re-organize. We went to a great meeting this evening.

Bottom Line : The day could NOT possibly have gone better.

To TOO much fun. While at our local Circle K enjoying an Orange Creme Froster ..

Oh By The Way, Patti and I “introduced” our friend Michael to Circle K Frosters. MICHAEL then went and tried one and MICHAEL introduced Patti and I to the Orange Creme Froster.

Back in (was it 2018) Detroit Tiger Tom introduced me to a Circle K Froster in Bullhead City, Arizona.

So as Patti and I were enjoying our Orange Creme Froster, up drove a “commercial” vehicle on business with the Circle K.

For some totally odd and totally unusual reason, I never know myself what will make my putter-flutter, I really “was fascinated” by its beautiful “art work” (keep in mind that beauty IS in the eye of the beholder!!).

Then, after gassing-up, it parked beside us.

For the life of me, I don’t know how commercial artists do such creations.

What’s that Gullible ? STOP taking pictures !

April Fools Day, April 1st 2023

Patti will DO a 10am meeting then go to the library to select some hard cover books to read, catch up on People magazine and a newspaper.

We hope and plan to watch UCONN (University of Connecticut) play Miami in the final game of the Final Four of March Madness.

Good Day To You. Happy April Fools Day To You.

Does that hotel not have a luggage cart you could use to moveall your stuff in one trip?

So you had Sonic Slush, a Circle K Froster, and a Wendy’s Frosty? All in one day? That’s a years supply of high fructose corn syrup! You two must have enjoyed a sugar high to help with your moving.

Yes indeed the Edgewater Hotel has a staff of employees who have large luggage trolleys that ONLY they can use. One and only one time did I avail us of their services as I was totally spent and exhausted. Twenty dollars. At the time worth every cent. I have a 300 pound capacity, no nonsense, two wheeled, professional quality, hand cart of my own that cost me sixty dollars several years ago. Our two Wendy’s Frostys were a Junior size (not even on their menu board). Smiling Gullible. Thanks. Cap and Patti.

Cap, Patti and I have known each other since at least 1998. We met in Anchorage, AK. We have adventured together much over the years. My point is: Cap is not only a brilliant thinker, but he may be possessed by the compulsion (and perhaps dedication) to accomplish every mission, purpose, adventure that he has chosen to explore. I.E, to wit: I only mentioned if he was in Bullhead City perhaps he would sample one of Sonic’s brand of ice slush’s and compare to Circle K’s Frosters! And?? Well, as Cap has documented, as only Cap can, his adventure with visiting Sonic Drive-in and reporting the Sonic Slush has no comparison to Frosters! Whew! Thank you, Cap. Now I won’t have to go ‘the distance’ and do a taste-test and report back! (and I can tell other acquaintances not to bother, too!) hahaha
Re: the beautiful artwork on that car is computer-generated and refered to as a “skin.” Not only is the artwork impressive, but so are the body detail persons who print, and then apply this “wrap” over the cars original paint. Not sure what the pricing scale is set at, but I’ve owned a few cars that I would love to customize it’s exterior! My dream is to put a custom skin displaying Bullwinkle the Moose slamming into the right side of my Honda Accord…..to mimic the original damage provided at no charge by a manic Alaskan cow moose! (kinda like Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner, eh?) lol
Time to get moving on some home projects and cleaning house in eager anticipation of my Besties (you and Patti) coming over this afternoon to watch UCONN vs Miami U. Should be a stellar game! Not sure if it will top the ladies games yesterday! The Iowa vs S. Carolina was a barn-burner! Caitlin Clark—41pts! 2 games in a row! Zowie! Wowie!
    Sayonara, mis amigos. Hasta luego….
    With love, Miguel

No problem with me getting a sugar overload, except at Wendy’s. The other two stores don’t exist here.

And, yes, I can see Cap on a mission to Sonic!

Thank you Michael for another “work of art” comment Michael. I told Patti that I wasn’t going to bring up the Sonic visit with you unless you read this Post which you most certainly have read. Neither of us mentioned it during the UCONN vs MIAMI final four March Madness game. The sonic slush is just a drink. The Circle K Froster is an “adventure”. Amazing your knowledge of (what you called) a computer generated “skin” on the car we saw at the Circle K. I was amazed at its beauty and fine detail when I studied it up close and personal. A Bullwinkle The Moose slamming into your Honda Accord would be a real “hoot”. We are still Smiling at your comment. Cap and Patti
