MAY 19, 13 (4/4) .. PUT THIS ON YOUR ‘BUCKET LIST’

Somewhere I mentioned that when I leave Hong Kong .. because of the Chinese Language .. I have a small ‘sign’ or a small ‘note’ made up in Cantonese (not Mandarin) saying .. “Tomorrow I am leaving.”  So the special people I have met KNOW I am leaving .. I do NOT just disappear.

At my local Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office in Kowloon across the harbor from Hong Kong .. I showed my little ‘note’ to MY favorite postal clerk .. an elderly man ..

He smiled .. looked me directly in the eye and said ..

“Sir! Enjoy the rest of your life!” .. then he paused .. and added .. “Sir! You ARE A REAL GENTLEMAN!” .. “Have a safe trip home.” ..

WHEW!

Maybe he remembers me from 22+ years .. maybe not .. I can’t honestly say I recall him over-the-years ..

I have a ‘strategy’ when I face an all-you-can-eat situation .. I take small samples .. and eventually I ‘hit-upon’ the HOT TICKET!

Today .. in the CATHAY PACIFIC BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE .. my HOT TICKET was ..

A small (I had six of them) Egg Salad Sandwich with fresh Tomato on Sour Pumpernickle Rye Bread ..

“YES.  Died and went-to-heaven GOOD.”  NOT EXOTIC .. just MY HOT TICKET TODAY..

I have a plane to catch .. it is now 1114 Hours (11:14AM) on Monday .. 20 May 2013 .. in Hong Kong at the International Airport ..
