NOV 22, 23 .. COMFORTABLY NUMB

Wandering the streets of my mind.

It is now, this instant, 1:48am in the (call it) very early morning of November the 22nd 2023.

I just woke up from a three hour, eight minute, forty one second “nap”. Who else but yours truly “keeps track” of their nap time? Do you Robert? The length of this “nap” surprised Patti who lay beside me reading her latest John Grisham book, The Judge’s List, that she picked up at our Lake Havasu City library. The length of this nap just proves how utterly exhausted I am feeling as Patti and I recover (a very apt description) from getting down here from Anchorage.

“But you look and act so good Cap and Patti. How can you say you are utterly exhausted?”

I won’t “name names” but several of YOU know the same feeling.

As I slowly came out of this “nap of naps” Pink Floyd’s album The Wall (circa 1979) and the specific song “Comfortably Numb” was in the forefront of my mind.

Lyrics..

“Hello? (Hello? Hello? Hello?) .. Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me is there anyone home?

“Seattle Greg” can sure relate to Pink Floyd and The Wall. How about you Detroit Tiger Tom? Or you Michael?

THEN GULLIBLE came riding on her high horse to my rescue.

Read : Gullible gave me something to post here.

Gullible has published Chapter 13 of her 2023 Brazil Journals.

The Pantanal, the Forgotten Wilderness. We are now in the Pantanal of Brazil. Larger than 29 US states, or nine European countries, the 42 million acres of the Pantanal sprawls across three South American countries—Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay—and comprises 3% of the world’s wetlands.

Is this all there is Captain?

I “alerted you all” that I was Wandering The Streets of My Mind. What do you expect to find after I come to consciousness after a “nap of naps” with Pink Floyd and The Wall and the song Comfortably Numb on my mind.

Not Bad Weather Huh.

It is now 2:50am and Patti just said let’s get some sleep.

Still Standing. Still Smiling.

Cap and Patti

Haha! I saw The Wall concert at the Oakland Colosseum a few years back. Now the song of which you speak is stuck in my head. I’ll listen to the album today up here in Deadwood, South Dakota (Thanksgiving with Tim and his family). We’re expecting snow, about 5 inches, tonight into tomorrow, so it will be beautiful.
Love the pup pic, and of course I’ll “pop” over to catch up on Gullible’s fabulous Brazil adventure.
I’m making apple and pumpkin pies today.
Relax and restore. Yes, i sure can relate.
    Cheers!

Time my naps? No, they are unplanned – fall asleep reading, wake after about an hour, refreshed. Hit the sack by 2300, usually wake naturally about 0600.
    Gay sleeps more than I.
Enjoy a good Thanksgiving. We’ll be at Terry’s son Dale in San Jose with the rest of her family for it. Just got back from the Big Isle for a week’s visit with Jen and Scott where they live about 6 miles apart on the wet side.
