FEB 22, 24 .. A LOST CANE.. TAP WATER OR BOTTLED WATER..

Just begin Captain!

There!

Oh My Goodness (aka OMG) .. Has My Life Come Down To This??

Today Happiness WAS..

Patti began this journey with the words ..”Cap where is your cane?”

I have six canes. BUT only three are my “Number Ones”.

The three “Identical Number One Canes” are on the left in the above photo.

My “Sit Down Cane” is on the far right of the above photo.

I, Your Captain, did not even realize that a cane was missing!!

Well I “knew” where “It had to be!” I was up early and went to our local hospital to get our daily newspaper. Then I went to our local library to do some printing from my thumb drive. So it “had to be” at the Library. A “No brainer!”

I called our library and they did not have any lost canes. So we physically drove to the library and I looked carefully at the places I visited earlier this morning. I also asked in person at the customer service desk. Nope. No luck. No lost cane.

So then we went by the hospital and there were no lost canes there either.

Patti then said, “Do you suppose you lost it yesterday and not today?”

I never, as in I NEVER EVER Pooh Pooh any suggestions Patti makes (NO I didn’t lose it yesterday. I SAW that 6 wheel Kenworth pulling a 50 foot trailer coming at us!).

“Well Patti, I was at our local Smith’s Grocery Store last night getting more Amazon Gift Cards to earn Kroger Fuel Points! Could be?”

After our 5:30pm Putt”n Sober meeting off we went to our Smith’s Grocery Store.

In I walked straight to the service desk. “We’ve been waiting for you Sir!”

Today Happiness WAS .. Getting Number three cane back!

Oh My Goodness (aka OMG) .. Has My Life Come Down To This??

Drinking Water Quality

Our ongoing Big Debate continues! Do we drink the local “Tap Water” or .. Taa Daa .. Do we drink only “Bottled Water”.

One of our Doctors said, “I am from Africa! I drink the tap water!”

Another won’t answer the question.

Many friends drink ONLY bottled water.

Many friends drink tap water saying “I can’t deal with the waste plastic bottled water creates!”

So I went online.

Below is a link to the People Magazine Article.

https://people.com/nanoplastics-discovered-bottled-water-8424730

How does the saying go? “You’re damned if you do! You’re damned if you don’t!”

Bottom Line: We are continuing to drink tap water.

One very VERY good compromise is this: Use the Brita Water Filtering System with Tap Water.

Yes, I have heard this version about plastic nanoparticles in water and that Tupperware plastic does not give the above effect.
However, the water is in the tap… not cleaner… after all, it runs through a variety of water pipes, which also react in all possible ways with water …
Therefore, I support the version “One very VERY good compromise is this: Use the Brita Water Filtering System with Tap Water. ”

And congratulations on the cane’s finding!

Good morning Cap and Patti! Catching up on your posts after a week of travel to San Diego. Amy drove over from Phoenix, and we had a great visit staying with her Spiritual Parents (my bff from law school and his wife).
First, a big hug of love and admiration for Patti’s 24th year celebration of sobriety!
Second, I too will miss Gullible’s posts about Brazil, but love everything she writes.
Water? I support a local water company and refill with their tasty purified water weekly at $.40/gallon. It’s local water which they process themselves, and tastes better than the tap. Plus lifting my 3 gallon bottles gives me a good workout at age 62. Gotta stay strong.
I’ve been enjoying our 60f or so degree weather. Can’t wait to go ride and train with my horse tomorrow.
I really enjoyed working with the mini horse at the special rodeo (for those disabled) a few weeks ago at our big stock show in Rapid City. The horses and attendees had such fun. I did too as a handler.
Well, glad to hear your appointments at Mayo went well, and that your cane number 3 was found!
      Stay well.

Thank You Kit for your comment. Your trip to San Diego, and Amy coming over from Phoenix, sounds like a winner. Patti had to tell me what “bff” meant! best friend(s) forever is an initialism of the phrase best friend(s) forever, and it’s a term of endearment used for selected close friends. It’s been in use since at least 1996, although the concept of having a “best friend” predates the phrase. Shows to go ya, we are forever learning. Thanks for acknowledging Patti’s 24 years “and counting” Kit. Interesting your using a local water company for drinking water AND Taa Daa! Exercise too! Love your work with the horses. Back to Mayo again the first week in March. Happiness was : Getting my cane back. Go figure. Smiles. Cap

Interesting Olga that you have heard about plastic nanoparticles in water. We are very familiar with Tupperware. We may get a Brita Water Filter. I have used them in the past. The cane and I are both happy to have him home. Smiles Olga. Cap and Patti

Hi, Cap and Patti. I’m glad you found your cane. I love that you have three number ones. Not a favorite, second favorite and third favorite but all three get the number one status.

On the bottled water debate, I keep some in the garage so I can grab one when I get in the car. I need to keep water with me but don’t want to take my refillable bottles because I am prone to leaving things I like (it’s never things I don’t really care about.)

I’m aware of reports of problems with bottled water but there are also problems with tap water. I consider it a wash.

I, too, use a water filter as I don’t like the way the tap water tastes. I have a favorite refillable bottle, a second favorite, and two that are tied for third because they are carbon copies. The last two are hardly ever called into service but there in case something horrid happens like I lost my favorite or it’s in the dishwasher. I rarely use glasses of water because I have cats. They are known for sticking their paws in the glass and shoving it off the table. Not my little angels, but others.

    Hugs to you both.

Thank You Kathleen for your comment. So you like three number one canes. Yes the three of them are equal in design. They are the “four footed” cane design. They “stand vertically” and I can hook a cloth shopping bag full of correspondence materials to them when riding the ferry boat across Lake Havasu City. I am going to post a photo of them. I wrote “you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t”. I think “it’s a wash” sums it up Kathleen. Interesting you use a water filter for your tap water and it helps with the taste. Cats and glasses of water and in them go paws and the glass of water is on the floor. Great Kathleen! NOT your little angels however! Smiles and hugs Kathleen .. Cap and Patti
