NATIONAL TODAY.. 

National Pet Day is April 11.. IF you’re a pet owner, you know there’s not a day that goes by that you don’t celebrate your animal companion! So hug your hedgehog, bond with your bunny, and cut your kitty some catnip! The critter that makes you happy — and that’s not all. Over the past 10 years, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has been a partner in research to determine the physical and mental benefits of having a pet. It turns out that not only can pets steal our hearts, but they also contribute to overall cardiovascular health by lowering cortisol, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels.

NATIONAL SUBMARINE DAY .. April 11th, honors the day the United States Navy acquired its first modern commissioned submarine. On April 11, 1900, the Holland VI became the Navy’s first modern submarine.

Designed by Irish-American inventor John Phillip Holland in 1896, he launched the Holland VI on May 17, 1897, at Navy Lt. Lewis Nixon’s Crescent Shipyard in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The United States Navy later purchased the Holland VI on April 11, 1900. As the military’s first commissioned submarine, the Navy renamed it the USS Holland (SS-1).

I STOPPED!!

A “Look Back In Time”..

Back on March the 23rd, I just happened to find a website that was interesting to me.

As all of you who are following us know, the website advised its readers of Special Items of Interest for each day of the year.

So I began to explore it. And I really enjoyed what I found. However, little did I know, little did I suspect, just where this was going to lead us!

I began pulling on a short-thread-of-knowledge.  I quickly came to realize that I was pulling on an extremely long thread with no real idea as to how long the little thread was!

Then I learned that there are SEVERAL different websites that advise its readers of Special Items of Interest for each day of the year.

I quickly assigned it a Category Name .. National Today Is What Day?

And here I am on April the 11th. An hour or so ago I checked the category .. National Today Is What Day?. I found that, on nineteen (19) Posts, from March the 23rd until April the 10th, I had used the category fifteen (15) times. IF I keep going at this rate, soon this one category .. National Today Is What Day? .. will be too large to be of any real use! 

Step One. I have closed the category .. National Today Is What Day?

Step Two.  I have a monthly category .. NATIONAL DAY – MARCH .. NATIONAL DAY – APRIL .. etc.

Step Three. Does The Shadow Know? IF even this gets too unwieldly, will I simply delete the entire category?

As with every one who hosts a website (Web LOG or BLOG) knows, we can’t read our followers minds! 

As I sit here, I am unsure if I should even continue the category. It really doesn’t give you any details of what the Daily Special Items of Interest are!

However, even if I discontinue the category, I am going to continue, at least for awhile, seeing what Daily Special Items of Interest each day has because I really get a chuckle out of this!

ANY THOUGHTS? ANY IDEAS? ANY SUGGESTIONS? ANYONE?
