Well it is GREAT NEWS for me!
Last Friday the 6th of September .. I wrote that I was told by COSTCO that my new eye-glasses would be ready for pick-up in about two weeks. Since my Driver’s License had expired last Thursday the 5th of September .. I was not too happy with a further delay of two weeks until I could get my Driver’s License renewed.
After I came home from COSTCO .. a little voice inside of my head told me: “Why don’t you go down to the Optical Shop that is next door to .. and that is part-and-parcel of .. your eye-surgeon’s practice.”
I did NOT go there first because these small specialty Optical Shops tend to be expensive!
So out and off I went with an old pair of eye-glasses whose frames I like very much.
In I walked and when approached by Monica I said .. “Are you user-friendly with respect to re-using people’s old frames?”
“Oh sure!” she smiled and added .. “We need to inspect your old frames to be sure that they are satisfactory and not cracked and defective. Please sit down and I will have one of our technicians check your old frames immediately.”
Back came the technician who said to the two of us .. “These frames are in great shape .. there will be no problem using them for your new glasses!”
I then asked Monica .. “How long will this take?”
Monica said .. “Please let me see your prescription.” Looking over my prescription and getting onto an office computer .. Monica smiled at me and said .. “Can you wait twenty minutes?”
I NEARLY FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR!
“Did you say twenty minutes?” .. “Yes.” .. “Let’s do it!”
And out I walked .. having never even asked the cost .. with my new prescription eye-glasses.
Last Saturday the 7th Patti and I went down to the DMV Office here in Anchorage and I took .. and I passed .. my eye-test with flying colors! I could read each .. and I could read every single line of the eight line eye-test chart!
WHAT A RELIEF TO HAVE my new Driver’s License! .. good until September 5th, 2018!

By the way .. the new eye-glasses only cost me one hundred and twenty dollars. IF you know the prices of eye-glasses .. this is a can’t-be-topped price!
