Yesterday’s Post.. The one that very, VERY, few people go back and re-read! Let alone read any comments thereto!
Yesterday we published a Post about Kathleen’s Warrior Weed out on our back Porch.
Oh My! We received several very welcome, but totally unexpected, comments from Linda (aka Earthworm), Gullible and Kathleen.
Linda commented..
Could your “weed” be a birch sapling?
Gullible commented..
That’s what I’m thinking too. Now that Cap and Patti have adopted and named it, are they responsible for its well-being all winter? Its little baby roots will freeze unless they are better protected. Perhaps they should let it spend the winter in their spare room where it’s warm and the sun shines through the window. But! Who will give it refreshing drinks of water after they turn into Snow Birds? Only the Shadow knows.
Kathleen commented..
Oh no! Oh my! The stakes are much higher now. The mighty Warrior Weed might actually be a tree? Maybe a nice thick insulating blanket around the pot this winter… Someone to water it if it doesn’t snow enough… We may never know.

We replied individually to each of the above three comments basically saying the following..
We are going to “Let Mother Nature run her course” without any assistance from the two of us.”
Translation: Patti and I live in a Condominium that has some very specific Rules and Regulations that each of the Condo Owners accept when they become part of the Condo Association.
Sad but very true, there is absolutely, positively, no way that we can plant a future tree! Let alone nurture and care for it.
We will be interested next May of 2025, when we return from Arizona, to see how our Warrior Weed (our Birch sapling) is doing.

Cap and Patti
As soon as I find my iPhone……
Oh My! Oh My! Gullible! Have you called it from your land line? We totally understand! Your Allies.. Cap and Patti
Doesn’t work if the phone is turned off as mine usually is. Anyway, I found it.
Whewie! Good news! Thanks for your update! Cap and Patti
You can take that sapling out of your condo area and plant it elsewhere, you know. Then you can visit your very own tree on your walks.
Now that is a tender and thoughtful idea Gullible. Our plan is to “sit tight” and see how it does “on its own” over the winter in its “home” out on our back porch. Big Smiles. Cap and Patti
