JAN 30, 25.. A COSTCO SUBWAY eGIFT CARD.. TO HELL AND BACK..

It.. Is.. Not.. A.. Good.. Thing.. When.. I.. Begin.. A.. Post.. At.. 12:01 AM.. Midnight..

Before you topple over and quit reading this “Tome”..

At least ..

BEWARE OF ELECTRONIC eGIFT CARDS.

TO HELL AND BACK WITH A COSTCO SUBWAY eGIFT CARD..

Heretofore, when I think of a Gift card, I think of a Credit Card sized, small piece of plastic 3-3/8 by 2-1/8 inches, that you can hold in your hand.

Heretofore, I have always gotten Subway Gift cards that look similar to these two.

My sons or Patti gift me with them. I also purchase them at Smith’s Food and Drugs or from a Subway store, you get the picture.

The trip to hell and back now begins because a good friend told me that Costco had Subway Gift Cards for sale at a “Good Price”.

As a result, last December the 15th, 2024, I placed an order online with Costco for $179.97 worth of Subway Gift Cards.

Ordered on 12/15/2024.

Do you see above .. I did NOT see it ..

This email contains your Subway $15 eGift Cards.

Shipped on 12/15/2024.

Delivery via Email: Free

Now guess what I began to do?

Daily, each and every single day beginning on / about December the 20th, I went to our local Post Office to “Get my Costco Subway Gift Cards”.

I waited a full week after they were shipped BECAUSE it was the Christmas Holiday season.

They.. never.. arrived..

So last Friday, January the 24th, I called Costco. Have any of you any idea how difficult it is now to get a live person on the phone? Several times I was advised they couldn’t respond and to call back later.

Finally I actually got a live person, Whitney, and she was a winner.

“Where are my Subway Gift Cards Whitney?”

“We shipped them to you (get this) by Email!”

“You what Whitney?!”

I, your Captain, had never, ever, heard of Email shipping!!

Whitney “walked me through the process” and said .. “Look closely! Do you see? Order placed December 15, delivery via Email free!”

“Yes Whitney I see BUT what on this good earth do I do now? Can I get a refund?”

“NO. Costco does NOT refund Email Gift Cards.”

Whitey then said, “Do you see this image?”

“Yes.” .. “Do you have a QR Code App on your smart phone?” .. “No!” ..

Then you..

“Take a photo of the above image and show it to your local Subway Store.”

So out and off to our local Subway Store.

I ordered a footlong.

I showed them my Smart Phone Photo.

“Sir it won’t work. You MUST get a paper copy of your QR Code.”

I then went to our local library. It takes twenty two (22) individual steps to get a printout of the QR Code.

Below is but one hurdle you have to jump over.

Instructions on how to use it!

Give.. Me.. A.. Break..

Will you all just look at the “Redemption Instructions”.

Back I went to my local Subway Store with my above paper copy of the QR Code!

“Sir it still will NOT work!” ..

“Andrea I am not paying for this footlong sandwich. I did what you said to do.”

“I will call my manager.”

She did. Andrea herself was doing things all wrong.

I got my footlong. I got cookies.

Munch. Munch. Munch.

Cookies.

And more Cookies.

What a nightmare : “Heretofore” is one word, meaning prior to this point. Just you keeping ME on my toes. I could say something about past and past perfect tense verbs, but, a little learning is a dangerous thing.

What the heck. A lot of my comment disappeared.

Cookies? Gullible we two ARE really enjoying the Subway cookies. They are just a bit of a “Splurge” at a buck ($1) each but fun. Smiling. Cap and Patti
