Today we have yet another, in a recent series of “No Brainers”, as to selecting a NATIONAL TODAY Holiday to publish here on dotnet!!

DEAR CHOCOLATE CAKE..

It was love at first bite. You come in many forms: layered, molten, bundt, fluffy, mousse-y, decadent, frosted… But we love you all the same. You’re the reason we know what happiness tastes like. Your special day may only come once a year on January 27th, but you’re also the reason we know how to REALLY celebrate a birthday or a sweet valentine. We would make ourselves sick over you. We would steal the last piece for you. We’d even lick the bowl for you. But no matter what, we’ll keep coming back for you.

    Happy National Chocolate Cake Day! Though I am not really a cake person, unless cheesecake or carrot cake. There is something to be said for the chocolate moose type cake called a “tuxedo” cake. Man oh manischewitz as you would say Cap! That is the finest of chocolate cakes ever to be prepared, and eaten! Yummy!
    Hope you two have a nice day. Our freeze has broken, and we’re once again above zero. Right now, nearly 7am, it’s a balmy 15f and snowing. 😊

      Kit, I Googled Tuxedo Cake. A tuxedo cake is a decadent, layered dessert characterized by its black-and-white theme, usually featuring alternating layers of chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse, dark chocolate mousse, and a rich chocolate ganache. Oh My Oh My.

      When living up in the Interior of Alaska, when it would warm from minus 60°F all the way down to a balmy minus 20°F we would practically be down to T-Shirts. At minus 40°F and cooler it would begin to feel “a little cool” in the cabin. Step out outside into minus 40°F for a minute or so and upon returning it was amazing how much warmer it was back inside.
