Patti and I are curious about what NATIONAL TODAY is going to share with all of us about Being Humble.

Google and Wikipedia say..

Humble describes having a modest, low, or accurate estimate of one’s own importance, characterized by not being proud, arrogant, or self-asserting. It signifies being down-to-earth, respectful, and sometimes refers to having a low social rank or simple, unpretentious circumstances.

Be Humble Day is celebrated on February 22.

Today practice humility by just being humble and silent!

On Be Humble Day, we hope that people across the world, irrespective of their religion, culture, and philosophy come together and stress the importance of being humble.

Many great personalities say that humility is the most difficult of all virtues to attain. Either way, Be Humble Day focuses on the importance of being humble.

Being humble is more than not boasting about one’s own life and achievements.

Being humble is about listening to others, accepting our own errors and weaknesses, and working on them to get better. This is exactly what Be Humble Day advocates.

There is a common misconception that humility is associated with being too passive, submissive, or insecure. This is not true. Humble people are quite the opposite and may be full of confidence and belief in themselves. So, they are eager to help others and hear others out.

California Dreamin’

At age 10 months, Patti became a resident of Southern California. Patti remained a California resident until April of 1963 when she became a resident of Alaska.

At age 21 years, in January of 1958, thanks 100% to the United States Marine Corps, for the first time, I became a California resident. In September 1958, thanks 100% to the United States Marine Corps, I sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and left California.

In October 1964, I again became a California resident for basically the next thirty three (33) years until December of 1997 when I became an Alaskan resident.

We celebrate National California Day on February 22. 

California is a beauty that adorns the western landmass of the beautiful U.S., with shimmering beaches washed by the deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Nevada deserts in the east. Its north is graced by occasional prairies, marshes, and other wetlands bordering Oregon, and finally, the Mexican borders to the south. California is a land of geographical diversity, blessed with seashores, forests, deserts, valleys, coastal mountain ranges, and a thriving agricultural landmass.
