CAPTAIN !!
Practice what YOU Preach Captain !!
Translation: Patti and I do not like the severe heat (when it is over 105°F) down in the Arizona Desert.
We tell all of our Lake Havasu City, Arizona, friends the following :
You.. Can.. Dress.. For.. The.. Cold !!
You.. Can.. Not.. Dress.. For.. The.. Heat !!
We (more me than Patti) are doing just that. I am wearing warm long underwear. A serious Down Jacket. And layers of other clothing to deal with the (at least to we “Desert Rats”) cold here. We are using a large heating pad in bed. etc etc etc

Both Patti and I have done some traveling in China. So these two NATIONAL TODAY Holidays caught our eyes.
Today’s Number One, Top of the List, Holiday.

More than one billion people speak Chinese as their first language. That’s more than any other population in the world!
The Chinese Characters are more than incomprehensible!!
This is interesting.
April 20 also celebrates Cangjie, who invented Chinese characters (2650 BC) about 5,000 years ago. One person, Cangjie is responsible for the Chinese Language characters!!
China can claim 11 languages, lumping together related ones, with Mandarin as the national language. Adding to that, the Chinese speak more than 1,500 different dialects.

Now what is the below Holiday?
UN Chinese Language Day was established by the U.N. to promote cultural diversity and multilingualism.

UN Chinese Language Day is held on April 20 every year.
It is a holiday that is used to celebrate cultural diversity and multilingualism. The Chinese language is one of the six official languages chosen by the United Nations. The holiday helps to promote equal usage of the official languages. There are six days that are dedicated to each of the six official languages. These holidays are observed all around the world. The events of the day help to promote Chinese culture and the beauty of diversity. It is an opportunity for everyone to understand how different cultures have many similarities as well as differences.
Get this: The Chinese language has over 50,000 characters and some Chinese dictionaries say that it’s much higher than that.
BUT !! You can speak and read the Chinese language if you only know about 20,000 characters.

GULLIBLE ..
Below is the link to Gullible’s most recent Post titled:
A Brief Intermission: Behemoth’s Plight
Behemoth, my Ford F-150 pickup, might be excused his confusion, as he is being asked to shoulder (how’d ya like that pun, huh?) both firewood season and litter clean-up. The implements of both are in his truck bed, ready for implementation at any time.
