GOOD FRIDAY..
Good Friday falls on the Friday before Easter.
In 2026 that is today, Friday April 3rd.
Good Friday commemorates the death of Jesus on Calvary, the site just outside the walls of Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified.
Good Friday is, for many, an intensely personal day of prayer and devotion.
The exact origins of Good Friday are unknown, but the celebration dates back to the 4th century. Did the phrase ‘God’s Friday’ evolve to ‘Good Friday’?
Jesus sacrificed his life out of love for his believers and all mankind. His death was the ultimate sacrifice. Despite it being a terrible day in history, the event paved the way for mankind’s salvation, with Jesus being resurrected two days later.

The Great Alaskan Earthquake and The Black Forest Cake were featured in our recent March the 28th 2026 Post.
In the Autumn of 1988, in Royal Oak, Michigan, I met Danny Ziegler. We have been close friends from the day we met. In reply to the our March 28th Post, Danny sent Patti and I the below very much appreciated text message..
We are blessed. Patti was not injured nor killed in the earthquake. What would our lives have been like without Patti? Also, Baden-Wurttemberg is the name of a German State created after the Second World War. The Black Forest, which gave the cake its name, is in Baden, Germany. My Ziegler family is from Wurttemberg. Love to both of you!

Another “Feel Good” NATIONAL TODAY Holiday..
INSPIRING JOY DAY..
National Inspiring Joy Day is on April 3 every year.
The idea came from the “Woman’s World” and “First for Women” magazines, whose objectives were to spread joy and motivate their readers to live their best lives.
One suggestion is to Share hugs with others. When we hug, our bodies release oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin ― the ‘feel good’ hormones. They make us experience feelings of happiness and relaxation, improve our mood, and lower levels of depression.
According to a study published in the journal “Global Environmental Change,” the ideal spot for happiness is an outdoor spot near the water when the weather is warm.

Patti has shared with me that she was the “marbles champion” of her neighborhood, much to the dismay of the boys in the neighborhood Patti says!
World Marbles Day is observed every year on Good Friday.
This day commemorates the first British Marbles Championship that took place in England in 1588.

Well, Good Friday sure is overall a joyous day to be celebrated. Amen!
Marbles Day! Each Wednesday I drive country (dirt) roads to play a marbles game (aggravation) with my elder rancher ladies, one bison, one cattle, a teacher, post master, and nurse, all retired. We lost our 92 year old retired banker a few months ago, but she’ll be with us always in spirit. We leave all worries behind, and call it our mental health marbles day each week. The game has been played Wednesdays continuously for about 30 years, and we carry on the tradition in the town of St. Onge, South Dakota. It is about the same size as Pescadero, CA from where I hail, being a ranch town of a couple hundred.
I wish for you both a beautiful Easter. He has risen!
We woke to snow this morning after our first false spring. We usually get 2 or 3 before this cold stuff is done. We need the moisture!

Thank you Kit for revisiting your traditional Wednesday Marble (aggravation) Game.
We Googled it. Aggravation is a classic 2–6 player marble race board game where players try to move all four of their marbles from their “base” around the board to their “home” spaces. The first player to get all four marbles home wins, often by using a die roll to land on opponents, sending their marbles back to the base. Does this sound familiar to your game Kit? Sorry to read your retired banker has passed on. Hopefully she rests in peace.
